Having studied spirituality for many years and met many interesting people along the way, one thought became common. One guy I conversed with online came right out and said it. Everyone seemed to be looking for a way out, as if they were fed up with this life or world and didn’t want to come back. The guy I mentioned, proclaimed, he was going to reach enlightenment in this life time so he would not have to re incarnate. Take a step back, and it sounds like everyone is saying the same thing, I want to be enlightened, I want out. Which leads me to the first hurdle in spiritual practice, it is very easy to swop an ego for a spiritual ego, in short your ego will rise up to meet your expectations. This combined with what has been asked in another thread, should we try and tell others, leads me to think, what’s the point. I do believe, it is of little benefit to try to surge ahead, it’s all or nothing, you cannot go anywhere without the rest of them. Is it an evolutionary thing, all or nothing?

The Rosicrucian creed: The Mystical path leading to illumination requires a tenacity of purpose and a dedication of the heart and mind, which only a few possess. It is therefore not a path of the curious,or the sensation seeker,or even those seeking a refuge from the troubled world. It is an ideal for those who are willing to pledge their whole heart and mind for the growth and expression of the soul within,to the end of truly serving and raising suffering humanity.
When you help the others you also help yourself because evolution is always mutual; it is not just survival of the strongest. We are not "saved" ; we gradually merge with the Christ Consciousness. One of the most embarrassing - to me - statements I heard from an Ascended Master was: " naturally we wanted to return to help the others we left behind" .
If it was me I would have said " never again ! "

Personally I don't believe we all evolve at the same rate, many of us repeat the same mistakes over and over so need to keep reincarnating until that karma is cleared.
Yes ego is the problem, spiritual or otherwise, but I have a feeling the time is close when it's time up for earthly incarnations anyway so if we haven't learned what's needed guess we'll be learning lessons on another plane.....or even planet

Don't look now but you may have actually COME BACK to do a job when nobody was willing or available to do it now. You won't remember what you will be but your conscience will make you very uncomfortable if you stray from the path you chose for yourself before you were born ...

Hi Robert and everyone, I was going to post this on another thread, but let me post it here instead. (George mentioned our chat room on another thread.) When Karen was still the moderator there, I recall that one night a guest came and said he was (kind of) a God. First, I thought he was joking, but realized he meant business after he started preaching. First, everyone there was silent...so silent. Then someone tried to change the topic. The preaching still continued. Though I feel deeply for Karen, but had to left her there and shut down my computer. I felt like that captive in this movie. After every tortures the terrorist could think of, the captive still didn't talk. Finally, he begged to speak not very long after was push into the locked room. There was a Japanese guy in the room, singing his karaoke. Or let's imagine another scene: You were enjoying your dinner with your beloved one in one of your favorite restaurant. Then came karaoke time (it was allowed there). One guy grasped the microphone and started singing. You knew he had his right to sing there, and it was not his faults that he had that bad voice. But he even didn't know musical notes! What would you do? Nothing? Didn't you have also right to enjoy with peaceful dinner? I believe those who believe in politeness and nonviolence, just chose to leave that restaurant. The question remains, and you just left other diners with that bad singer? To be fair, if it were me, I always just choose to leave with a bit guilty. I know what I told above has less to do with the real spirituality. Some times ago, I used to tell why there are two branches of Buddhism. To make the long short here: one (Mahayana) believes you have to help other first and your spiritual development will grow faster; another (Hinayana) believe if you still cannot really help yourselves, how could you help others? All will only drown together. Should we help others? I honestly don't know the final answer. I think maybe, just maybe, when helping others become our habits this question might become meaningless. We just help other, if we could, it's just something we get used to; if we don't think we should, then we don't. That's all.
P.S. Robert, I'll go to another thread of yours very soon. A bit busy for a few days.
