Let's say that you've got some foreknowledge (knowledge of an event before it happens) via something you do believe (prophecy, premonition, fortune-telling, precognition, astrology, Tarot, I Ching, divination etc.), then, what's next? [For skeptics who don't believe in these stuffs, let's say that I'm talking about weather prediction. Will you bring your umbrella with you if the weather forecast says it's going to rain?] Here's what happens to me recently. I was going out to do something, then I got a prediction like this: Return from a short distance. No need for remorse. Great good fortune. So, I suddenly changed my mind. But while walking back home, I had this thought. What did it really mean? Did it also mean I should go back (return) to something I had just quit (before I got the prediction)? I should return to do what I was going to do in the first place? If that's so, what the difference between getting and not getting that prediction? I was going to do it anyway. Or I was just mislead by (if not misinterpreted) that prediction? My point is, if my first thought (before I changed my mind) was just a bad thought, or I didn't think thing through, I might make a mistake. But, at least, I could learn from my mistake, couldn't I? But if the prediction was right, and I stopped doing what I was going to do, how do I know it was right? Because I don't make a mistake at all and nothing happens.
Could that already be called a good fortune? Have a happy Sunday!

Sometimes a choice is a decision we don't want to make bad. But sometimes a choice is to choose to not be ignorant. We don't know and just ask for something - anything - we overlooked or was in denial over.
And yes sometimes we know the right course but wonder how bad could it be to do the opposite ? So is there always self doubt?
I wonder .....

Not sure if I can but will try to share my understanding of subjects.
I have been interested in tools like Astrology/Numerology/Tarot etc. etc. systems and energies for many years.. not per say as blind fortune telling tools but as tools that can give greater insight and understanding and deeper connections of understanding of how our lives play out. Truly understanding Astrology/Numerology, I Ching etc etc gives one a small clue to the energetic blueprints we are born with and are living out both individually and collectively throughout our lives.
But after long periods of watching peoples lives, and trying to gain deeper understanding of the different types and cycles of energy and the world's energy patterns. - made me understand that there ARE energy patterns which do affect our lives both individually and collectively Life is not just random happenings and realizing we ourselves are multidimensional energy patterns creating and living with those forces all the time - most people live through the changes of energy within and without unconsciously but do it nevertheless.
One must learn what each planet, each aspect and placement and each number represents energetically, symbolically, psychologically along with spiritually and what are practical manifestations and forces of energy pattern playing out. Every thought, emotion and physical action creates karmic energy patterns that need to be ultimately balanced out and fulfilled over time. But our personalities only gets glimpses of our overall blueprint we are working with at any given moment of time. They are all energy patterns working out when in manifestation but for most people they are blindly playing out. It is not a simple system learning how energy works out and how it affects us individually and collectively. It is complicated in its working out and not fixed.
Some degree of human free will and destiny are both alive energies in the mix. Some things are Karmic forces ( some brought in from other incarnations, others we are constantly creating is this life), karmic patterns are created by humanity and must be played out over time. Some patterns (their are individual patterns, group patterns, patterns of countries, patterns of the world etc). We have some degree of control in its working out "sometimes", some energy patterns we have less control, much less control. But they play out creating joy or suffering depending on which and how people work with them consciously or unconsciously. Some lessons are not the ability to change the course of actions of our lives but how we deal with them as they play out.
Where a person is in their own energetic evolution makes the working out a bit different for some then others, the more one is aligned to higher Will, the clearer one is, the more one learns to work with the patterns and not fight against them in their working out. The more one can get insight of where we are in each cycle, in each moment to work one can work with the overall Higher Will.
Our Higher Selves are so much more knowledgeable of the patterns we are living out at each moment. Using tools like meditation and such can help of gain greater insight of where and when we should be... didn't say it totally makes it easier.. But does give greater opportunity to see the energy game playing out and making choices from a deeper point of view. Ultimately we must let go of our lower ego desires and align more and more with Higher Will.
Using tools like Tarot, I Ching etc can give one "insight" depending how centered one is when asking a question. Being Centered in the Present is key. And ALSO one's ability to read the symbols of what the answer is saying. I think our Higher Self does give insight if we ask in the right state of mind and being,,, but interpreting the answer we are given can sometimes be tricky because our ego desires at times may block what the true answer is from our Higher Self. Life is built on the principle of Change -- ups and downs -- and what one symbol means at one moment may have a slightly different meaning if read at another time or for a different person.
To me it is asking for "insight" not always getting perfect answers. What we do with the answer we receive is up to us to interpret and live out and hopefully understand that karmic forces will be created either positively or negatively by how we deal with the insight. And our continued Actions and Reactions to forces we put into play and live our in the world.
Sorry this was so long, not sure I totally shared what I wanted but I tried.

I have been thinking on this thread for a while. I only know my own experiences but some of the things I have felt and seen are reflected in all of your words. I think the journey is to be in the middle place, not hold on too tight, not too loose. To observe and quiet the mind to get out of our own way. It is a kind of flow, where we can choose and direct, but gently, like a waltz. When my journey began, everything was so new and surprising! I had no ability to describe. There were no words. I had only bumped into words like meditation, spirituality. I had never seen tarot or any type of divination tool. The first time I used a pendulum, I was dumbfounded. There were many firsts. There was no judgement, good or bad, though a few things were frightening. I asked questions, people explained. I learned a few words and concepts. I have no expectation. I do not expect to see syncs, and yet I do. For me it is all about keeping the quiet, beginners mind and allowing the journey to unfold. When I do, amazing things happen. But when my egotistical part of me, the spoiled little child takes the reins, well, it all comes to a screeching halt. It is all about lesson. Listening and learning from the lessons.
