It seems one of the few places still open for fun and good eating are the Casino's operated by local Indian tribes. Very odd - a bit of Las Vegas in Southern California! The crowd is a bit aloof though and more intent on gambling. The fear of Covid almost pales by the fear of who will eventually occupy the White House here in the U.S.A.
Unemployment will make a bleak holiday season for many.
What I find very telling is I can't know what is just biding it's time for normalcy to return of if everything is crashing down to be reborn into something else. Or even which is the most preferable. A disaster begs for a rebuild but a chronic malaise suggests a complete change of direction to find the way out.
There is a difference.
Maybe that is the silver lining in all of this. One of the things that frankly brought me into the wonderful world of spirituality was that conventional life wasn't even beginning to live up to my best expectations. I just thought there had to be something beyond everything I hadn't noticed of been taught.
Or maybe just maybe I was putting my faith in the wrong things.
