I sat in conversation with an older man, someone who had done well in life, might is right was his mantra and it was obvious money was his God.
He had recently experienced health problems, and I was left stunned at his philosophy, that he would still drink and eat whatever he wanted and only exercise when he had to.
While paying top dollar for medical advice, he insisted carrying on the same way, and believed this was him, knowing his own mind.
Even the abrupt answer, that he was a slave to his desires, and if his mind fell out of the sky and hit him on the head, he wouldn't recognize it, made little indentation.
This same man is deluded beyond belief, about who he is and his capabilities.
But it got me thinking, when a child is born it knows nothing, what it learns comes from its parents and social surroundings, then later it is highly influenced by schooling.
Our basic mind frame comes from others, sure, we make certain decisions based on personal preference and even these can be highly influenced by our upbringing.
When electric shock treatment was used in the past to treat mentally ill people, it wiped the mind clean, everything had to be learned again, this re-learning, came from others.
I have stated in the past, that spirituality is re-conditioning the mind through self hypnosis, there is even a new method of spirituality out now which people are ranting and raving about, which is all achieved through hypnosis.
When it first dawned on me, about self hypnosis, I felt angry and cheated, but if we are to face facts, we are programmed to be a certain way, from the word go.
A characteristic of the mind, is once, a belief system is firmly embedded in the subconscious, a new opposing belief system, may well be rejected, a mental block.
The only way to implant a new belief is to by pass the logical mind, by hypnosis.
But the fact still remains, the way our minds are, for the large part, comes from others.
We can never know our own minds, for such a thing does not exist, whether programmed for this reality or spiritual ways we are caught in a wave of consciousness, that slowly evolves over time.
Which brings me to my last point, re-conditioning the mind to spiritual ways, lifts us into a realm where magical things can happen, these things must and can spill over into this reality, if not, what would the purpose be.
For me, heaven is what the earth could be like, there is no reason why it could not be that way now, the problem is, those in power are of the same mindset as that older man I had the conversation with.
