I remember in the late 1960's Billy Graham came to the Los Angeles U.S.A. area for one of his notorious crusades. I was going to a fundamentalist Christian church at the time. A number of my Sunday School classmates attended the meetings. One girl told me she snuck in the press box and Lawrence Welk the band leader was standing next to her.
An informal transcript of the Rev. Graham's sermon revealed his usual preoccupation of death. Not really morbid but his central theme was you are going to die and you need to prepare for that. Obviously being "saved". Nothing wrong with that if that is your ultimate fate.
So many evangelists fell to ruin. It is worth nothing Billy wouldn't even allow a women in his hotel room unless another witness was present. It was mockery to say how easy it was for a man of God to be tempted or unjustly framed. Billy Graham just decided he wanted to be above board. For him it was that easy.
Over the years I grew and learned more and became much aware of how the Cosmos worked. Reincarnation was more then some exotic theory; it was nigh impossible to make any spiritual progress without it. Although I try not to dote on my past lives I am naturally curious what progress I am making. Needless to say I don't believe I am going to some eternal fate in an instant when I transition ( die ). To me going to Heaven is less a paradise as it is a chance to ask questions and get some rest before the next assignment.
Which just might segue into the question of the hour: what will be the fate of the Reverend Billy Graham now? I have no idea. It is not for me to judge. This man preached to be prepared so I can only hope he did the same for himself. To some I have heard is quite a shock to die and not be dead. To others it is almost as shocking to die and realize the journey is just beginning to start.
No matter who or what you are you always have the option of at least trying to do your best. Billy did that and had amazing respect all over. But even still come the next question.
" What comes next? "
