The way you describe EGO is the first step towards the ladder of self realization. Pin pointing other mistakes and keeping yourself always correct is the core representation of EGO, varying from individual parameters on different objects and incidents.
Ego consists of the body, senses, mind and intellect. No matter how pure the conscious will be, still it is a part of the EGO itstelf, until and unless it doesn’t make efforts to reach towards the sub consciousness within itself. Chances of occurences and feelings that makes the individual feel away from this material world, is a piece of cake but nothing more than that. So, living with that mindset needs a lot of self devotion and dedication in the spiritual world.
You can’t sail in two boats at the same time. IF yes, than definitely you are the achiever of something which itself is nothing at all. So, how to determine that whether the intellect is moving towards spirituality or still flowing in the way towards the materialistic demands we are chasing each and every time in our life tenure.
The art of calming our own spiritual thoughts in the way of working on them later or sooner, is like the same way we switch off our alarm clock while sleeping in the night. Or say, making new resolutions in the New year, which last not even more than a day or a week, depending upon your own efforts and conscious efforts made towards the completion of the material tasks as well. So, how do we interpret the spiritual world in such case. Is it still our own EGO, that persists and contains all that garbage which makes us doing all the same work that we are already doing from ages.
Are we literally born just to wake up in the morning, going for a job, earning money for the family, enjoying our weekends in pubs and malls, looking for better career prospects, getting attracted toward the opposite sex, etc. etc. etc. Lust, lust and lust that keep our senses more stronger than our own intellectual awareness of acting between the good and the bad decisions. But, again it is not just about the decision we took, instead more natural about the social environment in which we cover ourselves as a shadow of consciousness and thoughts that looks completely right in that particular moment of the life. So, even the worst decision is the right decision taken at that point of time in one way, to satisfy our own conscious levels.
EGO contains everything without even touching the real soul or sub consciousness. We all are one way or the another, living under the umbrella of that EGO only. Sub Consciousness is nothing but the SEER, which sees everything but doing nothing. And EGO is the one that does everything and later curses the seer for the same. So, whom to pointing out a finger on. Is it the sub consciousness, responsible for being the Umpire of the game or it’s the batsman who doesn’t even looking to the ball but plays irrelevant shots here and there all the time. EGO is that player who is there on the pitch, without even concentrating on the baller and his ball. The better the concentration, the higher the score for the individual as well as for the team (society).
