Hello everyone! 

I am Caroline i am a French girl and I recently arrived to settled down in Cork city in the beautiful country of Ireland. I literally felt in love with this country 8 months ago during an internship in Dublin therefore I've come  back as soon as possible. There is a really specific connection between Irish culture and I but i won't be able to excactly explain why.

I wasn't happy anymore in France and i couldn't find any people except one really close friend to share my interests with. I have always feel attracted by improving myself raising my awareness and be more and more connected to finally accomplish the journey I have chosen to live in this current life.
As a matter of fact it's extremely hard to find people who are in the same weave length. I am living with some people here who are more open minded to those questions but still I intend to find people who are looking for their mission in life just as I do and who intend to grow in a spiritual way.

I will be so glad to chat and even meet some of you if some are in Cork city or nearby. People who have already started this journey or who are about to i would be so thankful to exchange with you and to learn from you. I really intend to get rid of judgmental thoughts and behavior so as to really see how people are behind. I intend to really open my heart to other and to truely be who I am and living free.  

If some find themselves in what I have written don't hesitate I will be glad to chat with you and to encounter you.

Welcome to the forum, it is lovely to meet you.

Ireland is a beautiful country, steeped in myth and lore. The people are very family orientated - lovely and friendly. I am of Irish Descent as my Grandparents came from Southern Ireland. So I can well understand the way in which Ireland found its way into your heart. Sometimes a place just seems so familiar doesn't it, even if we are visiting it for the first time. Maybe it was your home in a past life.

We are a all belief spiritual group here, with members from all over the world. All with various interests and experiences to share. Which make it very interesting, with the opportunity to learn about the beliefs and cultures of others. I am sure you will enjoy getting to know everyone, and will find those you will particularly resonate with. How exciting to move to a new country, I am sure you will have many interesting experiences awaiting you. I hope you are very happy there.

I live in England and am a Reiki Practicioner. My interests include anything connected to spiritual growth. I am particularly drawn to Buddhism, as I love the Buddhist approach to growth through self understanding. I am an avid reader, and love many different genre's. I also have a big interest in Dreams and their interpretation. Which I do on our Dream Board. So if you have any dreams you would like some extra insight on, please feel free to pop it on there. I would love hear about your spiritual interests. Is there anything in particular you are drawn to?

Thanks a lot for your answer I am also so happy to meet people like you who are open to spirituality.

Well personally I don't belong to any kind of religions or movement or philosophy even if I feel really close to Buddhism I will never consider myself as a Buddhist. I am not a believer but I am not a non believer I just don't defined myself through religion or whatever.

But that's would be really interesting to directly talk to you throughl chat that will be easier to exchange and I can explain more what my interests consist in.

And please be lenient I am french so sometimes I am a bit in lack of vocabulary so it can be hard to exactly express what I mean ah ah. And what's your job? I have never heard about it before?

Hi Caroline,

The lovely thing about Buddhism is, that you don't have to be Buddhist to emulate aspects of this beautiful belief path that resonate with you. I also believe that its ok not to feel it necessary to put a label on our spiritual leanings, but should be able to embrace whatever idea, thought or feeling about spirituality that feels right for us. Even if it is to just be open minded. Personally I find there is wisdom and beauty in all spiritual paths and am happy to enjoy and experience it, wherever I find it.

Reiki is a form of spiritual or energy healing. The word is Japanese and means Rei (life) ki (force) This healing energy works on the mind, body and spirit. For it is believed illness occurs, when these three things are out of balance. This can be caused by a variety of things, such as disease, depression, long term stress, or simply feeling disconnected from their life purpose, or losing spiritual connection, which had previously been a sustaining force in their lives. So when channeling this healing energy, the practicioner does not direct it, but asks that it goes 'wherever it is needed'.

I am sure there are other Reiki Healers on the forum who could share with you their own perception and belief of how it works - but for now in simple form this is my take on it. A Reiki Practicioner/healer opens up to the healing energy, which some people call the Universal energy. This is the life force that is all around us. The idea is that sometimes people need help, because for a variety of reasons their own ability to self heal has become depleted. The reiki healer uses their ability to connect with this healing energy and act as a conduit between the energy and the person seeking help. The motive being to help the recipient rejuvenate themselves through receiving a energy boost from source. I sometimes liken it to receiving a jump start from another car, if your own car's engine has stopped working. There is a lot of information freely available online about Reiki. So if you get time and are interested to learn more, check it out.
