Hi Young, Welcome to the forum. First of all I'd like to say, I think its great that you are interested in personal development and spiritual growth. I wish I had started at your age. Now to your question about Marijuana. There have been a lot of studies done on the affect of marijuana on the brain. Particularly in young people who are most vulnerable to its addictive and negative side affects. If its habitual, it can cause long-term mental health problems. Its worse if you start smoking it when your really young, because the brain is still developing. And having read some of the writings of spiritual teachers, one of whom was Osho, who dabbled with smoking it, he was quite clear that it did not help him spiritually. As there is a danger of the high that the individual is after, to induce a spiritually heightened state is more often than not a false one. Simply neurons firing off causing auditory and visual hallucination. If you are genuinely interested on achieving a heightened state, it is far better to learn how to do it naturally, through meditation. Then you know whatever you see feel or hear is genuine. Not just a side affect of the drug. Do you see where I am going with this? Honestly, there is no fast track to becoming spiritually enlightened. In fact, to try and induce it by artificial means is really dangerous. Study, join a spiritual group near where you live. Practice meditation. Or if you are into something more physical, try martial arts, as they are a great way to keep fit as well as teaching mental discipline. You will learn the spiritual meaning of connecting to the chi (life force). Feeling the chi can be heightened through meditation and be used as a catalyst to activate higher spiritual awareness.. stimulating the higher chakras.. I hope this helps Young. Love and light Kaz
