Life is rarely easy, not many people live the life they would of dreamed about. When you were a child you would probably be asked the question, what would you like to be when you grow up? Most of us would of said, something like a Doctor, a Policeman, a Fireman or a Nurse. Did any of you choose the career path you spoke about while young? The question is, what is stopping you now, becoming the person you want to be?

Thanks to local groups I have access to seemingly gifted individuals that can tell me my past. This is something you wouldn't do casually. Face to face meetings with people you know or trust is the key. There is an advantage of discovering you have a destiny that has been playing out over the millennia.
I have been told some people just have strange abilities or insight that don't want to talk about because it isn't normal or they don't understand what or why they are that way. With me it is the exact opposite. I thought I was good at science and technology and didn't mind saying so. But for all practical purposes nothing what so ever came of it. It is almost as if I was forced into esoterica to try and find out why because of preordained failure. I still haven't been told why everything seemed to be doomed from the beginning and I had to start all over again with a different approach.
There only silver lining is the realization there seem to be forces out there controlling things in ways never taught in conventional schooling. It is never malevolent. Or fatalistic. Now I know in the end I can truly become a master of all I see and experience. But I still don't know why I wake up each day and all I can do is just mutter "some day ...some day"

HI Leon.. interesting question.
My own journey had an important milestone when I was 13 years old. I had been on my high school track team -- had gotten the German Measles which turned into the kind of rare disease of Guillain-Barré syndrome. Besides being paralyzed and in enormous amount of pain for a few weeks, during that illness cycle I had a near death experience. The expereince planted seeds to open me up to realize there is more to life then just "normal living". I am not going to share my experience of the NDE here but part of it was meeting some wise Beings who told me it was not my time to leave yet and I had to return. They didn't tell me why I had to return and what for...( been trying to figure that one out my whole life) but it left the seeds of trying to learn the deeper esoteric mysteries of life and death. Which has been my main search now for the last 50 years. That included living and working to help run a spiritual community, working in a spiritual bookshop and other assorted activities of living and serving as compassionately as I can with individuals and groups.
So it lead me to join various esoteric mystery schools, to be involved in assorted esoteric studies and to experience deep profound inner levels of consciousness. Living a spiritual life, with its many periods of peace and bliss and also it's periods of struggles to grow and evolve psychologically and spiritually... has been my main life focus. And to try to help others on their own path if called upon to do so. I have learned more and more with age and practice to be connected to Higher Will and discern if I should trust it -as part of my main rudder of my life.
So going back to your original question -- my career path has been combining my spiritual being and ideals with my everyday life as best as I could... which at times is a bit out of sync with the majority. But does feel in sync with my inner self. Which to me is more important. I never had any desires or motivations to make big sums of money or fame as any type of goal. I worked for non-profit spiritual groups most of my adult life. But I always had enough and things like places to live or jobs etc., have come to me when I had a desire or need for them. Overall, I have felt blessed this lifetime.
peace ace

I work a factory job, I'm in debt, life sucks but to spirit I'm living the dream. It has everything it wants to experience, hardship n struggle, Good times etc. Just the human side that hates it lol. If it was perfect then spirit would not be experiencing life in this human vessel.

One of the more interesting object lessons ( from an "unworldly source" ) I received at a local meeting was a hypothetical story of a three sort of Cosmic muck-a-mucks discussing how their realities were faring in caring for those in that reality. One was at the extreme end in curing it's inhabitants of destructive behavior and addictions and the other was pretty much the exact opposite. Rough and tumble no holds barred. It was obvious which reality was the most pleasant and nurturing. But the subject then segued into which reality produced the highest percentage of Ascended Masters. Guess which came up the highest?
The moral of the story seemed to be when things are too easy we don't try to improve. When it gets rock bottom we have nothing to loose and everything to gain by "going for broke". And produces more results.

Hi Leon, It is an interesting question. And one I remember being asked many times as a child, by adults and friends of my parents. It seems to be something most children are asked at some point. What I wanted to be varied. Usually depending on what kind of book I was reading at the time.(I was a book worm from a very young age). Many of the heroes and heroines in my stories all seemed to live exciting lives. Sally Baxter Girl Reporter. A Air Hostess seemed a very glamerous job. To my mystery books, where being a private detective seemed to be very alluring. After watching the film Nun Story, I wanted to be a Nun. Growing up I quickly put aside the idea about being a Nurse, as though I liked the idea of tending to the sick, the sight of blood turned me most peculiar. Then one day I thought, that it must be thrilling to write books, so I would be an author. But each time I tried to write a book, all I good think of was all the great books I'd read and couldn't think of an original idea for myself. So that too went the way of all my other aspirations. I finally settled on becoming a Secretary. My Grandmother had been one in her day. And as a little girl, she let me play on her typewriter. So I did fulfill one girlhood ambition - to be able to type like she did, without having to look at the keys. In all seriousness though. This question made me think, not so much about the plans I had as a child for when I grew up, but more about the many things I have managed to achieve. I've learned a lot. Had some really powerful life experiences. I have experienced some great highs and some very painful lows. Made some mistakes and seen the world. I've also met some great people and made some good friends. I think now as I'm older, if I'd had my time again, I would have really enjoyed becoming a teacher, helping children with literacy and reading, and tried to pass on the love of books that I have always had. But having said that. I think in all honesty, I have become the person I was meant to be, and I am quite happy to be me. And at the end of the day, I think that is more important than having regrets and wondering what might have been, if only I'd done...xyz! I've really enjoyed reading everyone else's replies. Love and light Kaz

I think it is important to be yourself and follow your own choice of career no matter the vocal opposition or naysayers. After all it is your life to lead, not theirs.Follow your heart in all matters is my golden rule.
And Bazraz to get out of debt, you have to change your mindset from debt, to wealth and success. How do you do that ?, quite simple. Affirm to yourself three times a day, because the subconscious works in threes, the powerful words " Wealth and Success ".
Then set yourself a reasonable time frame to see if there is a marked change in your financial state of affairs and personal standing, after doing these simple two word affirmations daily, and then re-evaluate your situation to monitor and register any discernible progress going forward.
