It is almost December 25th! That seems to be the quintessential holiday for Christians - next to Easter. Oddly it isn't considered a Holy Day for most Christians. Indeed like Easter morning it seems more a chance for the Heathen and apostates to make some amends and attend church once again. At least for one day a year. For born again Christians it is business as usual since they are the ones keeping the churches going the rest of the year.
Having decided I am not a Christian it can be rather awkward. Not because I am atheist but because like most Christians I delight in choosing my own version of what and how and to what extant I worship. If each church or Christian religion has its own dogma and beliefs I don't know why I can't do that for me and take mine a step further. Unlike Jew or Islam there never was much of a unified faith in Christianity. Excepting maybe the Catholic church. I am just not in the mood to join anything much anymore.
This may be a poor analogy but they say there is indeed a Santa Claus. He exists as a concept. The same might be said for Jesus but the comparison is more then that. Man invented the myth of a nice old man in the North Pole giving out presents to all the nice kids once a year. The Christ Consciousness is an old term used over the ages to express the life essence that animates all. That it would be embodied in an Ascended Master that incarnated 2,000 years ago in a definite life time as an example. Countless other sightings occurred but were less documented.
Unlike Santa this appears to be the real thing.
But exactly what is it? Savior? Long promised messiah? Although in this case it is more convenient to assume externals we are still stymied. We can only know based on what we sense. We are dealing with something so far beyond ourselves it is close to being unfathomable. And yet it is intensely personal. And as real as we can accept it.
The Rosicrucians maintain the messiah will return when the humans of Earth accept Him individually as a personal experience. "The messiah of the heart". In the interim we have churches and bibles and religions and holidays and everything in between. To remind us. Of what it seems is written in our very DNA. We know what to expect because of that but in what form we have forgotten.
Hence the many reminders. Merry Christmas!
