We are all aware of the five main senses; Sight, Smell, Touch, Sound & Taste. But what about our other senses - Intuition, imagination, empathy & compassion? As human beings, I believe that we have the potential for so much, we are so much more then we think we are. By exploring all your senses not just the accepted five senses you are opening the door to a world that is deeper, richer and multi faceted. I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this. Have you explored or considered developing, for want of a better word more subtle senses. How easy or difficult have you found this to be?

There appears to be a perennial amongst the Rosicrucians - and I suspect the Golden Dawn - that says the true meanings of the Monographs are not written down. Even though they are written down. This implies hidden meanings. I am now getting lectures via Rosicrucian Paths and Frater Tom that make a more specific suggestion: it is the so-called THIRD EYE that enables us to perceive things right. I am not sure how to develop the Third Eye. Just to acknowledge it's existence is a great first step.
Needless to say having a teacher with occult abilities is a great way to start. One that has it or what ever you seek can lead you to get it for yourself. It has been difficult for me because in the past nobody told me these things or they did not know it themselves. Even learning how to live and live abundantly can become a selfish exercise in narcissism.
To be aware is not fun. You see awful things. You do see the endings and that is always good. At times it will be a most lonely path. Only when you see the pain and misery you caused for yourself and the others will there be any attempt to reform and advance.

Hi Karen, I said a while ago I would start a new thread on "what is your happiness" but I'm too busy (and lazy) to do so. Well, to tailor it to this thread, it will go like this: One of my happiness is reading good books. There was a time when I really enjoyed reading the books I like. Then came the mobile/tablet age. My first one (not phone) was 5.5 inches android tablet. Wow! I was so excited as I could carry handreds of my ebooks to read anywhere. Not to mention many (free) good dictionary apps and text to speech app that could read my ebooks (and audiobooks) out loud. The only problem was most of my ebooks were in pdf files (while epub was okay). They could not fit well on my android device (always too small). So I bought another one (sure, the secondhand and cheap one, ), 7 inches screen. It fit well on landscape view but not portrait one. Another problem again: I could not hold it so long when reading on landscape view! Then came another cheap 8 inches screen. So gooood! I could read so many books via it. Then came another problem: battery life! So, I bought another one again, this time, ereader (Nook, Wexler flex one and Kindle). With one full charge, it could last for weeks! Note: I was not rich, so I could buy only the secondhand ones which were so cheap. And that meant, I had to wait until I found someone posting their ads to sell them. hahaha Again, Most ereaders have 6 inch screen. Still too small. As for the 7 or even 10 inches screen are still new and so expensive. So no one is selling them yet. Then one day I realzied that I had spent time to find a device to read my ebooks so well until I forget to really read my books! Poor me! Then I recalled the time when I really enjoyed reading my paperback books! That time is really gone? Back to your point (or not? lol), yes, chasing our five always senses bring us to nowhere, even that means trying to gain our knowledge via reading. Didn't T. S. Eliot already warned us about this? "We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time."

Hi Monty, That is one of my most favourite quotes. And as I have grown older, it has become even more meaningful. I had to smile when you were talking about using a tablet to store all your books on. I love books, and have hundreds of them here at home. My partner has suggested I use a tablet, I think its in the hope of freeing up some room, as we are running out of book shelf space lol I am afraid, I can't be tempted. Though I can see how convenient it can be. I find I use the computer so much already, I cannot imagine anything worse then using a small screen to read! You see, when I read a book, I can lose myself in it for hours. I don't strain my eyes. I can sit or lounge anywhere I want to read it. Knowing me, I would forget to keep it charged up. I love the smell of a new book, and an old one. I love to run my fingers along my book shelf, deciding which one to read again. They are like old friends. I cannot imagine getting the same thrill from flicking through a tablet. Love and light Kaz
