Hi everyone, I have always been fascinated, by the many different forms of divination that have been used by psychics and seers throughout the ages. Crystal gazing is something I know very little about, so thought it would be really interesting to look into it more closely, and this is what I discovered. I hope you enjoy learning about it, as much as I did. The art of crystal gazing is an ancient one. For many people, the most popular image of a crystal gazer, is one of the Romany gypsy, gazing deeply into her crystal ball to see into the future. Crystal-gazing, also known as crystal-seeing, crystalism, crystalomancy and spheromancy) it is a form of divination or scrying, that is achieved through by the practicioner putting themselves into a trance-like state by gazing into a crystal. Though a crystal ball is often used to do this, it is by no means the only way in which it can be done. Anything which possesses a shiny surface will do. An intensely shiny surface reflects so much light that it temporarily stuns the nerve endings of the optic nerve in your retina. This causes the eyes to perceive only the brightest surfaces within a field of vision and overlooks the rest that are darker. The effect on the seer is that it partially hypnotizes the conscious and subconscious mind, and the inner eye then assumes control, allowing the psychic images to flood in. Crystal gazing a tool to divine the future, has been used to determine many things. Discovering hidden facts in people's lives; finding lost articles and people, even crimes have been solved. It can also be used when someone is seeking to know future events in their lives. Or to discover hidden aspects of self, or in their relationships. How to make the crystal ball work for youThe first requirement for successful crystal gazing is to relax so thoroughly that your mind becomes a complete blank. There are many different relaxation techniques available. Find one that works best for you. Without being in a deeply relaxed state, it will be difficult to see anything in the crystal. Do not stare into the crystal without blinking. Gaze at it calmly and easily. Do not worry about whether you will see anything. Try to think, instead of what you wish to see. Think about it steadily for a while. Then allow your mind to quieten down and think of nothing. This may seem hard at first, but practice will help you. Never sit in total darkness, but rather in a dimly lit room, with the light coming from a window or a low-voltage bulb. The light should be coming from behind you; never in front. It is best to rest the crystal on a table in a suitable cup or stand. It is also good to cover the table with a black cloth beneath the crystal. This will help you to concentrate and there will be no distractions. Ideally you should be alone and there should be no noise in the room. The slightest moving of a chair or loud breathing of another person can distract you and make complete concentration impossible. Crystal gazing requires much practice. At first you may not succeed. In time however, you will succeed in visualizing that which you wish to see. To visualize a specific person, place or thing; picture it as you last remembered it, or as you imagine it to be. When you have this mental picture as clear as you can get it, relax completely and deeply. Cease trying to visualize anything and let your mind go blank, like a white screen before the movie starts. As you gaze into the crystal and your concentration becomes complete, after a while you will start to see the crystal becoming cloudy. It will be as if a milky cloud were forming and filling it. This is the sign that you have been waiting for, that will tell you the scrying is starting to work. The final stage is when this cloud like formation gives way to what you are looking for. Often the picture will be startlingly clear. You will find in the crystal scenes which are meaningful to you. You may see people, houses, places, where you have never been. Words or sentences, symbols or other objects which have a meaning for you. If you are giving a reading for someone other then yourself, you should tell them only what you can see - even if it means nothing to you. Be perfectly honest. In this way you will build up skill in seeing and describing and very often the other person will supply the missing information or meaning. Remember it is important to be sensitive about what you see. Use tact and discretion. Never do or say anything that will make another person feel uncomfortable. Crystal gazing is a gift to be honoured and respected. Love and light Kaz

Kaz.. thanks but I would like to add that Scrying can also have it's dangers if one doesn't know what they are doing, similar to playing with a Quiji Board. You are opening yourself up to the astral, sometimes the lower astral with it's mischievous entities... so remember to call in protection before one starts... and it is not to be played with if one isn't balanced and centered enough. If you are going to do it try to learn to meditate first before trying.
just my two cents.

Hi Ace, I totally agree with you regarding protection. It is not like me to leave that out, I was more focused on the process of scrying and omitted to talk about the usual precautions one should take when taking part in any kind of spiritual practice. So thank you for pointing it out. It is extremely important. Love and light Kaz

Hi all, may I add, from my own experience, that no matter what protection is used, every now and then, one of them can slip through. I`am also of the belief that they exist on the earth plane and if you are open enough, you can feel them trying to force entry through your auric field. If anyone has attended a reiki workshop, where the auric field has been expanded, you can actually feel where the bodies energy field ends, pushing too far can cause slight discomfort to the person, it is this same slight discomfort, but amplified, when something attempts to enter, usually through the crown chakra. Involved in reiki or deep meditation, or I imagine any spiritual practice, where one is opened up, annoying pressure can be felt in the head, crown region. I have heard these explained as," they are working on you", but never heard a worth while answer to, who is working on me? and why do I need to be worked on? My own simple explanation for this feeling of pressure, is again from my own experience, that entities have taken residence, if in doubt of what I say and you are feeling these head pressures, have a clearing done and experience what happens for yourself. I do not mean to panic anyone, everyone has entities to some degree, it does not mean total possession, but your thoughts can be influenced, have you ever heard yourself ask, "did I really think that" and know it did not come from you. I would urge anyone taking up any spiritual practice to tread with caution, it is not as many claim, all love and light. Are people aware that most forms of spiritual practice are self hypnosis. O dear I`ve rambled on, and gone slightly off topic, maybe thats a discussion for another day.
Take care all.

Hi Robert,
just more of my thoughts on this overall.. not a response just more that came to mind about protection etc.
When I was talking about protection is was not protection against higher forces or guides or higher being working in concert in a positive way with us. Especially when doing Reiki or other energy healing or meditation, prayer, mantra or other positive spiritual practices and even spiritual study. Actually the energy healer sees and learns to feel the working with inner forces or entities as a positive process in being an instrument for healing. But with psychic stuff and games, especially if one is a newbie to the energy of inner planes of consciousness it can attract lower forces at times ... but once one has lived a spiritual life to some degree one has less to worry about them ,, if one's overall energy field is of a positive and loving nature and in alignment to helpful inner guides it creates a force field as a barrier against lower forces coming in. We attract energy which is in alignment to where our energy is at.
As with other spiritual practices it is learning to use discernment to feel and understand what forces or energies one is working with and proceeding forward from there.

Hello Ace, there seems to be two schools of thought on this, one, as you have stated, we attract energy which is in alignment to where our energy is at, and this could possibly be true, if we hold onto fear in any shape or form, we may attract negative energy. But I have a hard time understanding there are people out there who are completely fearless, therefore we should all be attracting negative energy, if it works for the positive it must also work for the negative. It is something I have questioned myself about constantly, in my past I was no saint, I entertained as many evil thoughts as any other, which often caused me to question, why I experienced, what I have.
If one has lived a spiritual life to some degree, one has less to worry about, this was the philosophy I entered spirituality with, it did not last for long, my experiences showed this to be not true for me, for some say the further one advances along the path the more one is open to attack. It also seems to have been not true for many others, I may have the name totally wrong but was Rudolf steiner tormented by negative forces to the extent it became so familiar to him it caused him no concern anymore. I will also mention Padre PIO, who was meant to be tormented by negative forces at night, witnessed by a capuchin monk named Father Simeon who worked under him. Father Simeon told us of the screams and crying he heard from Padre Pio`s bedroom at night, Father Simeon is related to my wife and performed our marriage ceremony.
Your last line, I feel should be placed at the top of every post written, learning to use discernment, my concern is, are people actually aware, to what level discernment is needed. I have heard it said before, the closer one becomes in alignment with the higher self, the ego ups its ante, the levels of cunning and deceit have to be experienced to believe. My experiences have led me to believe the attacks are not all from within, but it is an interesting topic and subjective in nature, hard to establish a bench mark.
