Jesus Christ said in Luke 16:13, " "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money."
Christ and Krishna Consciousness is spiritualism or any religion where God is placed in the center is spiritualism, right? Any endeavor which places money in the center of activity is materialism, right? Please correct me if I am wrong. But why do most of us or all of , in fact, needs money? Even Yogananda Paramahansa had to solicit from Donald Walters ( Kriyananda ) in raising funds for SRF/YSS and publication of The Autobiography of a Yogi. Similarly, His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada founder of ISKCON had to ask donations from his followers for the publication of his Back to Godhead magazines , books Bhagavad-gita As It Is and Srimad Bhagavatam.
It`s spiritualism if money is invested for the glory of the Divine Being, God. This also applies when money is used for the maintenance of the body`s nutritional needs, family, shelter, education, charity, welfare, mental development, enhancement of technology, progress of medical science. Money is materialism when it is utilized to buy illegal drugs, alcoholic beverages, for gambling, illicit sex, for buying cigarettes, build casinos and sex dens.
In other words, that which money can`t buy like love, joy and happiness, satisfaction, beauty, knowledge and devotion is spiritualism.

You can not serve two masters.
A few months back, I met this young lady, very attractive, very calm, and very balanced, for her age she seemed very mature spiritually. She used to work in the financial district in London, she lives in rented accommodation with her boyfriend, who I believe is quite ill. She was so devoted to her spirituality, that when she discovered Reiki, she quit her job in the city, and set up a Reiki practise. Nothing else mattered, her security, money, she wanted to work with spirit, that was foremost. Some weeks, she sits waiting for the phone to ring, for a client to make a booking, so she has money to buy food. She claims she has never been happier in her entire life, and as yet, has never gone hungry. I believe it is called complete surrender to God/Spirit.
It is written in the Bible, that the birds and all of nature are provided for, and why would God not provide for us.
God provides for us when we surrender totally, when we lose all fear, and cease trying to control life. But fear and insecurity destroy our faith, and we run to the old ways of money and greed. Who truly is your master?

At one level it is insulting to think you can survive on just "love" when the bills come due.
At another level it never ceases to amaze me - my volunteer work over the years at the trolley museum - some people just do not get it. "How much do you get paid?" ; "Isn't it nice you did all this for the kids" ; "If I could I would buy such and such trolley and convert it to my mountain cabin retreat". We wanted this things preserved for their own sake in an authentic manner and we wanted them to be accessible to the general public. It was a thankless task but nobody else was going to do it unless we did. It might even turn a profit if we converted the museum to an amusement park that isn't what it is all about ....

I have it on good authority, that the robin makes an appearance at least once a year. Maybe, the Christmas photo shoot, festive tithes seem to support this. But as a precaution, maybe we should burn the hedgerows. For if I'am to flagellate myself, company is essential.
