Greetings,
I'm an 18 year old Armenian man from Montreal, pleased to meet you all. I'm hoping to learn as much as I can from this forum: I'm a fresh sheet of paper waiting to be written on. My family is quite spiritual on my father's side, but discussing such things is difficult for me, especially since my father is the least spiritual of them all, and my grandfather, the most spiritual and a medium, passed away years before I became interested in learning. All I know is that I have a powerful inner urge to develop my spirituality.
So here I am, with only my love and my passion to learn for offering.
I look forward to interacting and learning with you all, Tsor

Hi Tsor,
Welcome to our forum. In Buddhism (and I believe, it's also true for any spirituality) there are two important factors that do help you on your spiritual path: Yonisomanassikara and Kalyanamitra. Yonisomanassikara means reasoned attention, systematic attention, analytic thinking, and thinking by way of causal relations or by the way of problem-solving. Kalyanamitra means having good friends, good company, association/friendship with the virtuous, lovely, favorable social environment. Needless to say that if you lack one of these two factors, well... Sorry, sorry, I know. I myself don't like any technical terms either. I just want to say that good friends/favorable social environment are the must when you are walking your spiritual path, no matter what path you've chosen. We need like-minded friends to listen and interact to us. I've tried many spiritual forums over the past decade and can assure you that our friends on this forum are really nice friends.
P.S. Please feel free to post. If no one replied yet, it's just that they might had only time to read.

HI Tsor,
Welcome to the forum. It is very nice to meet you. I think it is great when someone is so eager and self aware to want seek out and learn about spirituality at such a young age. I loved what you said, when you said "I'm a fresh sheet of paper waiting to be written on." That made me smile. Your enthusiasm jumps off the page. But, what I say to you is - the story of your life, must be written by your own hand. Be discerning, listen to what others say, and learn as much as you can from everyone you meet. As we are all each others teachers, as well as students on this spiritual path. I believe it is important to constantly challenge yourself and your beliefs. Question what you are told. But if it doesn't resonate with your own soul, then ignore it or discard it. From what you have said, you come from a family with a history of psychic/spiritual awareness. Your Grandfather was a medium. I find it interesting that your own father is not into it, but you are. You often hear of these things jumping a generation. Maybe the whole thing frightened your own father. And so he closed his mind to it. That is not uncommon, and we must not judge someone else for deciding it is not right for them. It seems your Grandfather's passion has transfered to you. I look forward to getting to know you better and reading your posts.
Love and light Kaz

Thank you for the warm welcome Donq and Kaz! Indeed, I am highly interested in forming and maintaining friendships with like-minded people, thus why I am here! I hope to be able to interact with you on a future post! I've already started by posting one Kaz, thank you for your wisdom. If you are interested in specifics, my father did not care for mediumship as much as he cared for healing, especially Reiki. Recurring life complications led him astray from that path of spiritualism, but he is recently attempting a return to it. In any case, you might be right, and I may have inherited his passion. I know only that when I was a newborn, my grandfather insisted that I had a golden future, in the spiritual sense. I am poised to find out exactly what that meant. I look forward to interacting once more in future posts with you too! Tsor
