Hello
Kaz and I have done this before on Forum ,, so we thought it would be interesting to do again... pick an image and ask everybody to freely associate,,, any meaning which comes to mind when viewing it,,, any ideas?
IMAGE #2-- Let say the following picture was a dream image for you.... what ideas does the image evoke for you? what does it symbolize, if anything for you? who are the two people entering the water symbolically,, why are the walking on the water? What is the city in the distance? what is person to right of us holding in his hand?
FROM KAZ -- "I would suggest that people do their own thoughts on the picture, before reading and responding to what others have written. Only because I know from my own experience, reading the thoughts of others can influence the way I see something. If people do theirs before reading others, it wont taint their own intuitive thoughts on it."

This picture unnerves me slightly. The water seems too high, as if it is going to overwhelm the city. The dark water, full and moving quickly. Water for me is associated with emotions. These are running near the surface. Grey and forboding. The two men stand watching, not drawn in to the water. Detached. Watching as the city is swollen up It's a strange image and when that repels me rather than attracts. Interesting. Love and light Kaz

One of my perennial dreams is to witness a landscape very overcast if not downright ashen. It starts to rain and then floods. It never stops - everything becomes under water. Everything. End of dream. Quite the apocalypse although the meaning of that word was originally intended to be more of a revelation or the start of illumination. But looking at this picture I see the opposite of my own dreams. It looks like the waters are starting to recede and civilization is beckoning in all it's architectural glory.
The picture seems a very profound image of birth! As fully developed adults in limbo we are tempted to "try it once more" by crossing over the water to experience the delights of a physical life. It is not obvious what if any place has been reserved for us but with so many buildings and so much going on - as seen from afar - surely there will be room for us too. The fact that there are two figures and not just one solitary individual further connotes this decision to be born is not really starting from scratch. We voluntarily leave a group to go on an adventure on the "other side".

There is a lot of negativity from this picture, the dark shadowy figures stand and judge their work, the one on the left, evokes a feeling of mocking laughter. The water is swelling and threatening, the city seems to be losing its light, a pathway seems to exist on the water, but is not inviting, but rather the journey the two took out of the city.

Hmm...I think they are businessmen on their vacations and on drugs (LSD). And they are gays. Okay, seriously, my first impression of this picture is I don't like it. Whether I know it's about free association test in psychology or not, I think it's too much manipulated (and too obvious). Two businessmen are walking over water like the Crossing of the Red Sea of Moses? Come on! To what end? Their success in their business world AND spiritual world? (the buildings of other shore seemed to hint that as they are no skyscrapers) Hmm...or I'm really grumpy today?
