So every now and then I get these weird what I'd call mini dreams. I'll lay down to go to sleep and then in a relatively short amount of time maybe 10-30 minutes I get these dreams that seem to take place in my immediate surroundings. For example last night I laid down and after what seemed like ten minutes I was having a dream that the people I live with were coming into my room and saying things. I can't remember what they said. I've had a nightmarish one in the past. Is this a known thing?

Hi Alcinious, The average person has about 3 to 5 dreams per night, but some may have up to 7 dreams in one night. The dreams tend to last longer as the night progresses. During a full 8 hour night sleep, two hours of it is spent dreaming. So it is not unusual to have more than one dream. Can I also point out that judging the time that has elapsed when asleep can be difficult. Unless you have noticed the time on resting and then looked at clock immediately on waking. I am sure there are many who have woken feeling they have only been asleep for a short time, only to realize that several hours have passed.
It's not unusual to have dreams about your immediate surroundings. Some people actually have what are called 'false awakenings', where they believe they have got up, started their daily routine and interaction with others in the home, only to realize, when something doesn't look right, or slightly off, that they are in reality still asleep and dreaming. Dreams in the home are about YOU the dreamer. The people all represent some aspect of you. Even if it is only as a mirror to bring to your attention, issues, or areas of your own life that need attention. You say they were coming into your room and trying to speak to you but you couldn't hear or make out what they were saying. This I believe is asking you to look at the way in which you communicate with others in waking life. Is there a problem that needs addressing? Are you communicating your needs, feelings, thoughts and opinions. But, are failing to listen in the same way to others?
Just my thoughts on it Alcinious. Please only take from this, that which resonates with you and leave the rest.
Love and light Kaz

That's what I find strange I looked at the clock after the first dream and only thirty minutes had passes since I had laid down.
