Doing some esoteric research into what and when the Master Jesus is can be rather tricky. The written descriptions can be metaphoric and/or limited by the how much the translator knew or was willing to divulge. What I do find very telling is the legend of the rejected messiah; the corner stone the builders rejected; the prophet that wasn't accepted in his own neighborhood. It makes for good story telling! In contrast to that is the notion the human race is actually looking for a savior. At least some one to look up to. A poor soul among the least and lowest!
At some level we are proud and arrogant. At another level we love to stick up for the underdog. This holds especially true for the spiritual. We aggrandize humility and put it on a pedestal even if we couldn't be that way ourselves. It is as if hurt and martyrdom is a badge of approval. You can't be the real thing unless everyone hates you.
I don't know. We think we are independent but yet we are all born with some emotional baggage. We can only see things in a certain way and think the Cosmos must be in obeyance. I guest we find what we are looking for. No more no less. It is nice we have this holiday. It satisfies a need. It encourages us to be happy and make the others happy. But it also makes me wonder if I am missing something. Or seeing things wrong.
The pieces fall together and it can only get better. In the mean time it is eggnog and pecan pie time! Enjoy! The true meaning of Christmas will evolve along with our own evolution. For now it is time out and have some fun.
