After Death Communications, I'm looking for stories.

Hello. I am working on a book about what's called After Death Communications (ADC for short). I first became aware of this phenomenon after my daughter's death. She was 35 at the time and didn't know how sick she was. She died of pneumonia at 35 years old. The day after she died I had this "communication" in the parking lot of the hotel I was checking out of. At the time of her death there were family issues and by her choice, she and I were not speaking to each other. There was a moment that happened (it seemed like a long time but in reality it was brief) of this communication which occurred on kind of mental telepathy level. I felt her sorrow and I sent her mine. It took some time to figure out just exactly what happened.

What I know now is that the "partition" that separates this side of life from the next is not all that thick. A small aspect of that separation opened up briefly to allow this communication. I know it happened...I felt it. I can understand fully if you don't get it or you want to explain it away because of my grieving position at the time. There's more to the story as to what happened previously to the experience but it would make this way longer. The point is I know what happened and now...I can relate to others that experience their own ADC's.

At the time I thought it was just me. I mean I thought I was the only one in the world to have this kind of communication. Well, I'm pleased to tell you that is not the case. These communications have been happening for some time. A long time in fact. I began to collect them from other people....although I might add, with some difficulty. You may be surprised to find out it's a conversation stopper for some people.

Many do not think this ADC stuff is a good thing. They think it's Satan speaking using his deceptive powers. Or they simply dismiss it all together on a intellectual basis. And then there are those that simply walk around saying "NO" to everything no matter what.

The observation (mine) is that in fact, these ADC's happen to EVERYONE. And there is the clue I'm searching for. WHO is doing the communication. In my collection of stories I have a Buddhist, an atheist and an attempted murderer to name a few. These are all very thoughtful stories that would give a skeptic a moment to ponder. The direction of travel I'm on is to find these out of the ordinary stories from varied sources. From a Monk or sinner.... believer (all religions) or atheist....a player or a saint...and anything in-between.

So that's my pitch. I'm looking for stories of loved ones or friends that communicated from the other side. Any story really, but not ghost/camp fire stories. Not the same thing at all. On the other hand, what I'm looking for is unique and hard to find. I'm hoping that on this forum I'll reach a much larger audience with my search.

This is not much but I have frequent dreams about my parents but they are always in the past tense as how I remember them. Except for one dream which was in the present tense and seemed to contradict everything I thought I knew about them. Needless to say this was NOT a dream or experience I ever expected to happen. Nor did it ever occur to me some deceased persons could be so different tfrom the day they died. Unless they weren't really all that dead ...

Sorry about your lost. Some of my dear friends here also lost their beloved ones in a past few years.

Who is doing the communication in ADC is very interesting, though it has been the question for some thousand years now. Telepathic communication seems to be one explanation (among many) but again who is doing the communication from the other side? What are the truth behind séance and ouija board?
Ants know in advance that it's going to rain, and move their eggs to a safety place; an experienced fisherman knows beforehand that a storm is coming and doesn't sail, if intuition, precognition, premonition, hunch, forewarning and gut feeling are kind of communication with the future event (not to mention astrology or any art and science of future prediction etc.) what about doing the communication with the past?
I used to die once after being in ICU for two months, but I survived even my doctors didn't know how. Unfortunately, I didn't had any experience about the "literally" other world.
Still, there was one personal experience that engraved in my mind. More than 30 years ago, I lived in the forest temple. One day on the bus to town, I met a couple (villagers) with whom I was familiar. The husband didn't feel quite well and they were going to the nearest public health center which was more than 30 miles away. When it was my stop and I was getting off the bus, I turned to say goodbye to them. While I looked at a husband, suddenly I got an unexplainable feeling. I was going to reach my hand to pat his shoulder but somehow my hand could not reach him. It was almost but could not reach with no reason. I didn't think about this strange feeling much until I knew later that he was dead that day in public health center, even he didn't seem to be that sick.

Sorry if I have been off-topic. That is to say that I don't know much about ADC. But I just want to say hello anyway. :-)

Hi Jack

Just wanted to welcome you also to the forum and to say sorry for your loss but also to thank you for sharing.

As Gruntal and donq have already shared some of their personal experiences with you others may also wish to share their experiences or they may want to get to know you better. Either way I'm sure you will be very welcome.

I know of people who have also experienced ADC. Some with images...some with audio and some have experienced both. It can happen immediately after or more commonly up to 8 weeks and sometimes years after death. Our loved ones have been known to communicate via another relative or even through strangers to get a message to us.

There are many forms and ways of ADC but one thing is for certain, that at the time of receiving a message from a loved one, either directly to you or via another channel, there is no mistaking that it is 100% from your loved one, no matter how you try to rationalise it later.

It will be an interesting read all the replies in the forum and I wish you every success with your book

A while back, my wife and myself attended a spiritual development circle, every night would start with a meditation.
This particular night, we were to picture in our minds eye travelling to the higher realms to arrive in a park, where a family member or close relative would meet us by a park bench.
On arriving at the park bench, I found an old lady in a long brown trench coat with a red badge on the lapel, she held a wooden cane in her right hand.
I had no idea who she was, trying not to let my disappointment show, I asked her who she was and what she was doing here, to which she replied, "well, I want you to let her know I'm here".
I replied, "who, I have no idea who you are, then I got the name Ellenor, shortly after that she got up and shuffled off on her way, and as she moved away I could hear her say, " bloody useless that boy".
Normally, we give account of what we experienced, for some reason that night we didn't, and I pretty much forgot about Ellenor.
A few days later at home, having finished a meditation, I began to give myself a Reiki treatment, straight away Ellenor was back in my minds eye, and I thought, "you again," laughing to myself, I thought, "your quite persistent, you are", to which she replied, "well, you haven't passed my message on", again the answer was to whom, and straight away I went into a fit of sneezing, and I could still see Ellenor, laughing her head off.
Now she had my attention, the previous week, one of the girls constantly had a handkerchief up to her nose, I asked if she was getting a cold, she told me, "no, I have allergies all the time."
I wrote everything down, even tried drawing a picture of Ellenor, that was months ago, to this day I still haven't passed it on, and your post has just reminded me of that.

Thank you all for your input. I was wondering if you could give me some direction on what other threads I might post on at this site. Or any other ideas of web pages to post on. I'm looking and looking and posting. I  get mixed results and a lot of negitive responces. So any help you might be able to throw my way would be nice.

Jack,  Welcome to Forum .. wish you well with your project.

AS Donq said there has been many other stories and research on the subject for the last 150 years or much longer,,, Society of Phylical Research of the UK has been delving into the subject and recording cast histories for over a Hundred years.    Then of course you have Spiritualistic movement and churches also big in UK who have many members who work with communicating with people who have passed on from physical life but are still alive on inner levels.   Spiritualism itself was all about the subject and was very big in US and UK over a hundred years ago.

 Communication and how it works was also explored in many Theosophical books in early 20th century ... which have it a deeper understanding of how it works and ways one can increase it availability.. Such as person from our side needs to learn to meditate and raise there vibrational energies up to the level of where the one who has passed on is now residing instead of the reverse procedure.  Also communicating happens many times in the dream state of consciousness. but not all dreams are communication.  One must learn discernment in the communication process also.

 Some people work with people who are passing over... some being from the other side and with those spiritual workers on this side who have learned the process and how to be of help.

I've had many experiences myself which i don't feel comfortable to share here in public forum... but the subject along with Life Between Life study are fascinating ones to me.  Again, good luck on book.

I had an experiences which I think might meet your criteria. Though it came to me in a dream. Dreams for me have always been a source of insight and guidance. So much so that I have devoted many years to their study.

I was living in Wales and my Grandfather was in a care home in Birmingham. My Mum had a message from my Auntie that he was unwell and that she should come and see him. I was very close to my Grandad and as soon as I heard wanted to go with her. We got to my Auntie's quite late that evening, and though we asked to go and see him, she thought it was late and that we should go first thing in the morning. That night I dreamt I was at my Grandads house, the one he was in before he went into the home. I walked into his bedroom looking for him, but he wasn't there. From his bedroom window, you could see into his garden. And even though it was night-time, I could see him clearly walking across the grass. I called out to him and suddenly he was stood beside me in the room. He was staring at something, I could not see. But somehow I knew he was seeing my Grandmother who had died some thirty odd years before. He was now 95. I said, it's ok Grandad, go to her. Then as if I realized what I was saying. I was seized by this feeling of intense sorrow, a realization that he was going to leave me. I threw my arms around him and begged him to stay. Not to leave me. All of a sudden this really powerful wind sprang up around us, I clung on to him as it was so powerful I felt it pulling the both of us. Then I woke up. I could still feel that wind, even though the windows in the bedroom were closed and there was no reason to feel it.

That morning, when we got to the care home, we were told to wait while they checked on him. Apparently he had deteriorated drastically in the night that they thought they had lost him. Then suddenly he rallied and came back to himself. We went straight upstairs and he was barely conscious, but knew we were there. I put my arms around him, held him and kissed his head, and stayed with him till he passed away two hours later. I believe that he waited for me. That what happened in my dream was real, and that he held on, so that I could see him one last time, hold him and tell him how much I loved him. It was heartbreakingly sad to lose him. But felt so very blessed to have been given that extra time, to say goodbye.

I would recommend contacting the spiritualist church in your area.  Their spiritual principles #4 and 5 is all about after death communication:

4 We affirm that the existence and personal identity of the individual continue after the change called death.

5 We affirm that communication with the so-called dead is a fact, scientifically proven by the phenomena of Spiritualism.

And their service is usually a medium who translates messages for the people present (not all, just what comes through).

So sorry to hear about your daughter.  My sister also died of pneumonia.  It's terrible that it can actually take people in this day and age.  She also didn't know how sick she was.

I don't think I have had any messages from departed loved ones. Or I haven't noticed them. But one strange incident, I had a dream one night, I was in school. It was so strange, I wasn't awake or asleep really. There was this bright light above and flower petals floating down, so I woke up and just felt like I had to tell this to my teacher. I felt a bit stupid telling him, that I had a dream last night about this bright light and someone was sending him flowers or something, but I just felt I had to tell him that this was for him. And after he said "Hmmm yeah that's strange..." so I thought, yup should not have mentioned it how silly, and then he finished "My mother recently passed away and it is her grandsons birthday today." And then we kinda both just agreed that was strange but hmmm and ahhh about it, and then that was the end of the matter.

And I still feel like I am someone who feels quite sceptical about this kind of thing, as in messages from spirits and things!
