Between reason and faith

After 15 years of being a regular poster on spiritual forums here and there, I decided to go out of my cape and joined a meetup group here, in Bangkok.
From our meetup last Saturday, L., my new spiritual friend, suggested and even wrote affirmative words for me (from Florence's book). It went like this, "Every man is a golden link in the chain of my good." First I hesitated but would like to see its result as an experiment.
Yesterday I got a letter and a book sending from a writer I never known him before. He wrote, "I am a fan of your book (s) which have helped myself and helped me helping others many times."
I was so surprised not only because he's a writer but he's also a doctor!
You have to understand that I wrote that book almost 15 years ago (or even its second edition was still 5 years ago) and I never got any personal letter to thank me like this before.
Was it just a coincidence? My reason told me that whether my friend L. wrote that affirmative words for me or not, it should not and could not change that writer/doctor's will. It was absolutely his free will, to send or not to send his book to me. But again, why now, why after I joined that meetup group? There was a plenty of time before that for any of my readers to send it to me during the past 15 years.
Hmm...knowing about reason and faith is really a secret of life!

I always trust your spiritual intuition. Very encouraging! Thanks! :-)

More than 30 years of my spiritual searching, I have tried to understand the ups and downs of life. I got many success and many failure (and as you already knew, many broken heart lol) until they don't matter to me any more. Really. But I still love to know the secret behind it, this time not for my success but just for understanding it. And so many times I found that I had to forget about my reason and trust my intuition to lead me, no matter how unreasonable it seemed to be at first.

Phineas P. Quimby, father of the New Thought Movement (on which Florence;s book was based) wrote:

"It has been said that to know himself is the greatest study of man, but I say that for man to know his error is greater than to know himself; for every person is to himself just what he think he is, but to know his error is what ought to be his greatest study."

I really agree with him.

And you wonder why I have been encouraging people to seek out and attend local meetings if they had an interest in spirituality. Look how successful the Baptists got with this just using pot luck dinners as an enticement! Indeed attending local meetings belies the notion we can't get along with each other because our auras might clash or one eats BBQ spare ribs and the other nuts and berries. Seeing your cohorts face to face give all of us an added dimension. If your shy you can put a paper sack over your head or pretend your just the service dog with Mr. McPooche. With chance encounters come great opportunities! But you have to go out and make the first move.

Although I still maintain no " table tipping " on the first date ....
