An old man lived in a small village, when not working, he spent his time in meditation, prayer and study, he was a man of God, he became known as the invisible man, nobody had much respect for him, his existence, did not seem to matter to others.
Returning home one evening, he found his wife in bed with his next door neighbour, he excused himself for interrupting, and left saying he was going for a walk, and that they should not rush on his account.
People would come to his house and take his possessions, he would never resist or become angered.
One day his son came to him, and said he was leaving home, he found him an embarrassment, his wife had already left, his son did not wish to even call him father, to which he replied, "he understood" and that maybe his son should call this other fellow father, because he was a fine man, nothing ever angered this man, nothing ever pulled him out of his zone.
Satan, sat with three of his most evil minions, what are we to do about this man, we can not allow this to go on, they even call him the invisible man, this can not continue. "What are we to do, nothing gets to this man".
Having lost everything, the old man joined a monastery, his job at the monastery was to create the mandalas in the garden, and their up keep.
He loved his time in the monastery, and after tending the mandalas, would sit high in the tree over looking the garden, in meditation.
Satans minions had been ordered to keep a close eye on the old man, he sat there in meditation in total bliss, Satans helpers were at a loss as what to do, one came up very close to the old man, almost touching, he started falling into a meditative state himself and had to be rescued by one of the others, "d'ont get so close". They sat there not knowing what to do and were about to give up, when, the old man coming out of meditation, spotted a twig slowly fall from the tree and land in the middle of the Mandala, to which he quickly jumped from the tree and carefully removed the twig, then climbed back up the tree to meditate.
The three minions, looked at one another and smiled.
Everybody has a twig.
