Wow another anniversary of the " nine-eleven" event or we what we in the colonies call the terrorists acts that occurred on September 11, 2011. I do not remember a lot when that happened because I was taking care of my ailing mother. I do remember the apocalyptic atmosphere as the events played out on the TV screen. At one level it was very menacing but at another level it was exciting to see the unified response of a country often so divided.
What I do remember with some revulsion is watching a religious program on television centered around an obviously doctored photo of the smoke emanating from the Twin Towers with a demon's faces air brushed on it. The commentators were in all serious the picture was real. Far be for me to argue what is real at any and all levels of reality. My spiritual teachings have knocked down more then a few realities. I do draw the line though at demons and devils playing havoc with humanity and manifesting thru the photographic lens so conveniently.
It would seem in things spiritual we almost always get it wrong at first.
I have been taught there are a myriad things going on that interact with each other all the time. What seems like the end of the world is only a passing event even as what we dismiss as casual will eventually be seen with a vigor and empathy we can not appreciate as of yet. It is very tempting to dismiss things as superstition. Usually that is how it works. It is as if some things were verily disguised to be so. But I do perceive some plot going on. A higher purpose. It does make it all worthwhile to think it all turns out okay in the end.
In the mean time though it can get very rough. Especially when the blood shed is ours or someone close to us. At some level we feel helpless but at another level we feel privileged to be even a small part of it. That is the price we pay for being alive - and all too soon dead. When it is all over I guess we are neither but for now the experience is the all.
