This unique word Mumukshutva has so much power, but very few people make use of this word. What is Mumukshutva? It is a deep love and longing for God, starting with Bhakti or devotion. The devotion of a person grows like a fire into huge flames where one is so passionate, obsessed and completely devoted and dedicated to their God. This Mumukshutva is a longing for God and for liberation, one after the other. It becomes the most important quality for a seeker seeking liberation. Once, somebody asked, ‘How is Mumukshutva best described? Someone brilliantly answered, describing Mumukshutva as ‘that kind of love which has three emotional feelings; the desire that a miser has for gold, the longing that a child has for his mother who he has just lost, and the Love that a lover has for his beloved’. If we can develop these three deep emotions of love and longing, we will develop Mumukshutva and Mumukshutva is the door to Liberation and Enlightenment. For without this love for the divine, we will not have the grace to be able to move through and be liberated. It is said that the most powerful way of connecting with God or Yoga is through Bhakti or devotion. This opens all other doors to our salvation.
