Mind and the Soul

Who controls who? Does the mind control the soul or does the soul control the mind? As it seems to us human beings, it is the mind that is in command of the soul. The mind is the chief operating officer of our life. The mind is the CEO. It takes charge; it creates thoughts, habits, feelings, actions, character, and destiny. It is the mind that seems to be in command of the intellect, the memory. It is the mind that is in command of the soul. But in reality, what is the mind without the soul? The mind is part of this body that is inert, dead, the abode of the soul, the spirit, the atman. When the power of the soul, the atman comes alive it gives birth to the ego, the mind and the body. Therefore, in reality it is the soul that gives life to the mind. But then, why does it look like the mind is in command of the soul. It seems to be a paradox, but in reality what needs to happen is that the soul should be in command of the mind. The soul should realize its true identity. It is only when the soul realizes its true identity that the mind is annihilated, destroyed completely. Till such time the mind, along with the ego, thinks that it is in command and it believes that the soul is nothing but a power source within the body. It doesn’t realize that the soul, the spirit is the creator itself. And this paradox - who is in command - makes us live in this world with the illusion that the mind is everything. But in reality, it is the soul that is the commander; the soul is the life giver. It is not the CEO or CAO, it is the chairman itself.

To me when the Soul takes it's rightful place within a Being,, so does the Mind find it's rightful place as the Soul's servant and no longer the Master and Controller of the personality. The Soul still uses the Mind very much but now is added the Soul's deeper wisdom and focused intent.

There's a old sayingl The mind knowsl but the heart knows betterl hesrt meaning Soul. When Soul becomes stronger by many spiritual tecnekes or being an older Soul it becomes stronger to to degree and has more control of the mind. When Soul has Self Realization by experiencing Its Self on the Soul Plane and returns tu the body the mind and Soul are in harmany. But other wise it does seem like the mind is in controll some what . I can go on, but this is a heavy subjectl like the feelings guide the mindl but then it gets in positive and neg feelings ethicks morles being a channel for and so on
