Isn’t it so strange that things are sometimes right and sometimes wrong? It all depends on the circumstances and upon our philosophy and concept of life. For example, some people consider eating meat to be perfectly alright. Other people think it’s really bad. How can you kill and eat meat? It’s completely inhuman, it lacks compassion. Now what is right and what is wrong? Take examples of people who don’t kill to eat meat because they think it is uncompassionate. When the same people see a snake, they kill the snake in self-defense and they believe its right. Just a little earlier, they thought killing was completely unacceptable because it showed no compassion, but the next moment they are okay with killing the snake because the snake is attacking them. There is an enemy in the battle field and the enemy is trying to attack them. They defend themselves and kill their enemy.
So, the concept is that nothing is really right or wrong. It is for us to be able to understand who we are, why we are here, what is the purpose of life and what are we doing here. When we start asking these questions, these will lead us to subtler questions like where we came from, where we will go and who is God. And finally what is this whole life all about. Most important of all, we will come to understand the purpose of life.

Amen. The saint never walked the Earth that would pass muster by today's standards. But who are we but what went on before?
Besides there might be a reason why I like snakes better then people. You haven't walked in my shoes. Maybe in a past life I was kissed by a snake and felt blessed. That is more then I can say for human beings but I am willing to concede they have the possibility of growing up.
Look at me ....
