Anger - The real friend in this Materialistic World

The biggest mistake people do is compare anger with Non-violence and named it as a Negative source of energy around the spirit..

No doubt that's true in one way..and the way towards the consequence of the same at that moment also. But, still its something when a spirit or a individual speaks and acts the real manner at that time....Which is also known in the form of aggression from inside.

The process of life is all about getting born and die....And between that is all the fascinated world of dreams and desires that we create in the form of relationships, expectations, attachments etc.

Love and Trust lives in the form of expectation only in today's world......If I am going to get something either in the form of personal satisfaction or monetary levels somewhere, then its OK to be around the society....If things are not working in my favor, anger arises.

Anger arises and the real image of the illusionary world comes in front of the spirit at that time then and there...

The only need to caution is Respect the Anger...And ensuring that not getting yourself getting into any kind of reaction......The best point of Mediational internal part will come out when the spirit is Angry too.....

Now, thats completely the reversal part of being silent as well...But, we need to understand that in today's world, life is filled with all the elements that makes the mind not even rest for a second or so.

So, being silent is like counting all the stars in the Sky!

The goal is to understand and experience the difference between the reel and the real life that consists of Nature and Soul.

Every question can't be answered in a Logical manner. Its like asking "If Lord Hanuman is so big, then why is he always be under the shadow of Shri Ram".....etc....etc..etc..... Spiritual questions are all about experience, faith and self acceptance of it.....It can't be understand through the Spirits......they need to get inside the internal sub consciousness by there own...


Every individual is alone and responsible for its own Karma and intentions towards the materialistic and spiritual world.


Let me share a story over here:

A boy who in his own analysis of the life, feel delighted that he has done something good for his family......Like after his fathers's death, he himself acted as a responsbile matured man in his young age.....and having 2 elder sisters with a Mother left with him in the early age of himself..

According to him, he might had surely sacrificed the materialistic pleasure of the corporate society and its funny enjoyments....And never get indulge in any kind of relationships, just to ensuring that the sisters at home should be his primary responsibility to get married first.....which had in-turn impacted a lot of downfall in his own personal and professional carrier.....


But, that was his own way of personal satisfaction about the life by being never dis-stressed at all with the things he got easily but not get due to the personal and family responsibilities.....Though, the people do appreciated his hard life achievement and being handling the family responsibilities properly..

Still, these thing doesn't last for so long..As every day is a new day of life, and history is always about the past and the materialistic society will tend to change by time also....thats how the nature works.....But, the boy still living with this course of mindset to make him satisfied that whatever he had done or lost.....was just for his family..........which make him feel a little stress free in his own choice of relaxation....


But, like the cat while drinking the milk kept her eyes closed with a thought that no body see her....Same like living inside the well, like a Frog.....doesn't means the life ends there itself......


So, its all about the Karma that the boy need to pass by...No body was held responsible for whatever the consequences of life he had gone through.......Its him only who faced the life due to his own past life time actions which converted in the form of Karmas....



The good part is that the more the failures or hard incidents comes in life, the better and strong the spirit gets from inside...Rather living in the intuitive world of this and that....Me and they....Who and Why.....Love and Lust......Need and Expectation....Money and Honey.......etc....

Anything that the materialistic spirit lives under always normally...Will change the course of life of anyone.....The larger the difficulties, the better the connection of spirit with the soul itself...


The more the hard outcomes in the material world, it means a blessing by the Karma itself to let the spirit meets the soul or lives with the soul in the conscious.

Love the Anger. Respect It...

Never take any action while getting angry...But, at the same time don't forget the situation which actually the reality of the spiritualism....that says "Nothing here is Permanent" "Everything is based on Greed, Expectation, and personal benefit first"  "No one is responsible for the other persons pros and cons".....

Its only the spirit itself that gets this realization sooner or later about the Vairagaya (being disconnected completely from the material world) and get the self realization then and there....


One another from of Enlightenment this nature provides to the spirits.....let them connecting to the soul too.......

The routes might be different, but the destination is always about meeting the Aatma/Soul/Parmaatma at all.

Ravi, I did not understand how much emphasis is put on anger - and ridding ourselves of it - until I have talked to you and some of the other wonderful people I have met here, on the GodLight.

There are many who see only the surface - that which pertains to the 'outer man'. These are people of good intentions, yes; they wish to be Better, but they can only see what is seen on the outside. So they attempt to better control that which can be Seen; the reaction of anger. The 'response' to those things of the world that disappoint us, hurt or make us angry. Some of us are taught in our holy scriptures to 'turn the other cheek', to allow ourselves to be hurt instead of responding in anger of vengeance. We even see it on the television - when someone tries to be a bully or do something bad, the 'better' person may turn and walk away instead of fighting back.

But the one who walks away is usually still Angry. The one who turns the other cheek, is still Hurt. Because he or she is still Part of the world. The Anger still exists in the inner man, doesn't it? If we do not acknowledge and Understand our Inner self, we do not realize that we are Out of Sync, trying to be Peaceful on the outside when we are still at war on the inside, both with ourselves and the world.


Perhaps, to respect the anger is to admit that it is There, so we will not deceive ourselves? To recognize that there Is a battle, one that can be controlled temporarily on the outside but that Continues to wage war with us on the inside?


There is a place where anger cannot go A place where duality cannot live, and it can be Found while we are yet here on earth...there is one desire that brings release instead of imprisonment, connection instead of lonely isolation of individual soul. This place is not far, but it can be elusive; we must seek it with All our heart

Hi Samy,

An interesting topic. I've read your post and Maryanne's and I can relate to much of what you have both said. From my perspective, I find it difficult to see anger as anything but a negative emotion. I can see how anger could be used in a transformative way. As in someone feeling anger at the way they have been treated, or the unfairness of their lives - a situation, as a motivating force to change things. But anger to me is loss of control. A giving over of ones-self to their baser feelings and reactions. I have never seen someone angry, who has not acted or said things that they did not later regret.

I do see how someone being angry on the inside but remaining calm on the outside, is not a true image. Though it does show someone who has control over it. Rather then it causing them to lash out, either verbally or physically. I also realize that anger internalized can be incredibly destructive. That if it does not find some outlet, it can literally make people sick. So how does someone deal with anger? The only way I can see, is that of being able to let go of the emotional attachment connected to anger. For me that has to come through 'self understanding'. Why do I feel angry? Why do those words or actions make me angry? What is it about this situation that is making me angry?

If it is a person who is making us angry. Ask yourself what is it that they are saying that makes us feel that way. Is it untrue, unwarrented, unfair, unjust? If there is any truth in what they say. Then, how can I be angry for someone speaking the truth. Is it actually myself I am angry with then? If I am angry with myself, why? What can I do about it? If it is not true, or justified. I could defend myself. But if the person I am defending myself too, isn't willing to listen. Or is angry at me for something else entirely, but choosing to attack me rather then talk about what they are really angry about. How can any kind of resolution be reached? Maybe it is better then to walk away, and not associate with that person any more. I could go on and on, trying to think of a myriad of reasons why anger comes and what fans it. But ultimately, I, we, have no power over anyone else, only ourselves. Each person has to work on their anger issues in their own way.

Anger, can be a potent force. It can give people courage to speak out when they were silent, because they were afraid. Is anger then false courage. Or is it that anger stops people from being scared, if only for a while. Do people who are afraid, react angrily? We know that anger, can have a terrible effect on the body. It raises blood pressure, putting a strain on the heart. It wears down the immune system, making people susceptable to disease and infection. We can even be angry at those we love. So love, is no protection from anger. And yet, love is supposed to be the strongest force their is. Anger, is not I don't feel 'of the spirit'. Where does anger then belong. All emotional states, could be said to be of the physical. Yet, love, joy and compassion which are emotions are said to be of the spirit. How can some emotions be of the spirit and some not. Therefore, does emotion have no place in the spirit? What is beyond emotion?? What is beyond intellect, reason and logic??

Well, I don't think I've helped here much. Just given myself a headache. But it's been very interesting reading both your takes on anger and it's place - or not. And also given me and I hope other's, something more to think about.

Even as a kid I was able to read and understand adult novels. But I still read some books intended for my age group including the Tod Moran stories by Howard Pease. They commonly had a scenario where a boy somehow got aboard a merchant marine freighter and got deathly sea sick and just wanted to give up and die. The only was to snap him out of it was to use shame and ridicule. The idea being if you got mad enough you forgot how sick you were and did your job as an act of defiance.

The closest I came to actually experiencing that was as a care giver to the relatives. A job I was supremely unsuitable for. But I did it anyway because I was bound by honor and needed to show I was not a quitter. But it was done with little or no love - just a sense of commitment. I was vindicated but not very blessed. I deserved that - no more no less.

Now I seek things more advanced and think I am ready. Maybe I am and maybe I am not. To do your job is easy compared to doing it with grace and dignity. How many times do leaders "blow their top" ? We don't have a lot of choice if nobody else is willing to take the responsibility.

I have been told when it is all over everything and everybody is indeed vindicated. Until then we get our rewards up front and our real deeds get "hushed up". What could you expect? We were only human.  At least we got things done.

I still think I have a demon inside but that is another story to be dealt with at another time.

Thanks for sharing such nice thoughts Maryanne, Kaz & Gruntal. That is the real essence behind GodLight to be a part of, and have so great friends around with intense feelings and emotions about Anger , which is absolutely correct from any point of view too.

That is how the Materialistic life of the Individual/Spirit runs within the nature.....according to the physical perceptions of the daily life instances and experiences which cover up the Anger in a negative formation surely....


Its all about the art of controlling our own senses, rather living with them always....Different individuals, do it with various methods....because, the core part of everyone is looking for satisfaction.  And, it will only be come with when the body, mind and soul becomes a complete blank board (Peace & Silence)

If you can control anger, you will have limitless energy in your reserve. It is the rage, fury, irritation, exasperation or annoyance with something or someone.

Like, holy Book Bible says forgive others and yourself for all wrong-doings. If you don’t forgive, you are going to imprison negative emotions like anger, hatred, jealousy in your body which is going to do more harm to your body as well as it will reflect on your behavior which will affect your relationship with others. Jesus while going through extreme pain at the cross said "O Lord, forgive them for they don’t know what they are doing". For a common man, it is not easy to forgive. Whenever we encounter a situation wherein we are insulted, our ego is hurt. We try to take revenge at an appropriate time. We nurture these negative thoughts in our body with the sole intention to hit back. It may so happen that the appropriate time never comes back and we end up harming our own body. Negative thoughts if suppressed for a long time can cause sickness like hyper tension, High Blood pressure, Diabetes, depression etc.


Our Body is like a pressure cooker. Pressure cooker is a vessel which is used for cooking. There are 2 advantages why we use pressure cooker. Firstly, it helps cooking faster. Secondly, it saves on fuel cost.
A typical pressure cooker is cylindrical in shape with a lid on top which is airtight. There is one safety valve on the lid which helps in allowing any excess steam built up in chamber to escape. When cooker is kept on gas burner, the gas flame of the burner gets in touch of the bottom surface of cooker and starts heating the water content inside the chamber which results in buildup of steam inside the chamber. The steam goes up and tries to escape from the chamber but since it is airtight from top, the steam can’t escape with the result the pressure starts building up inside the chamber... It is this pressure which helps cooking faster. But if the steam is allowed...to build up inside the chamber indefinitely, a stage will come when cooker will explode causing grievous injury to the housewife. It is the safety valve which helps release excess steam from time to time so as to maintain the pressure inside the chamber. Our body is exactly like pressure cooker. We need a safety valve to release negative emotions. Children have safety valve. When they are hurt, they cry and all negative emotions are released immediately. As we grow old, our ego tends to remove safety valve. The point is "How do we release negative energy". Let me try and explain this to you by an story:


‘My boss calls me up in his chamber and fires me up for no fault of mine. Either I shout back at him thus releasing negative energy instantly and become normal or I keep quiet resulting in developing hatred towards him. If I shout back at him, it may have serious consequences. So I prefer to keep quiet. I go home and shout at my wife for no reason thus releasing my negative energy. My wife again is left with two options. Either to keep quiet or shout back at me. If she shouts back, the relationship may get affected so she prefers not to react and releases her anger at my child by slapping him. My child has safety valve intact. He releases his anger by crying. What I have just explained is a risky proposition. There is a big "IF" in this methodology. What if my boss reacts, what if my wife reacts. The other option is relatively safer and has no risk whatsoever.
If somebody hurts me, I lock up myself in a room. I focus my attention on an object lying in front of me. That object could be anything. A chair, a teddy bear, a toy or a vessel. I imagine that this object is the person who hurt me. I shout back at this object and release all my negative emotion. If I feel like crying, I cry. If I feel like shouting, I shout. If I feel like hitting, I hit.


The reason why I lock up myself in room is that I don’t want somebody else to look at me while doing this act else he will think that I have gone crazy.


If I hit, I may hurt myself but it is a small price that I will pay in exchange of peace that will prevail on me.


This is how we differentiate between a common person and a spiritual person. Everyone has its own way of releasing the anger. But, a spiritualist knows the reality behind it, so respect the anger and see it as a great learning to keep the spirit remind always that how come the all positives turns into the negative side and vice-versa everytime.

We are already aware in our consciousness that Jesus (the Holy soul who came in the form of live spirit to us) can't be measured or compared to a common man (Spirit/Individual) at any how...  But, atleast a common man still have this liberty or blessing to follow the footmarks provided by those great Wholy souls/Saints in the form of preachings they had given to us through Bible, Bhagavad Geeta, Quran, Guru Granth Sahib and many other books.....

Once that question hits the heart and mind deeply, the answer will automatically comes out in the form of Nature (materialistic world - nothing remains the same always) and the Sub-Consciousness/Soul/Aatma (which does everything without doing anything)

From my own experiences, it is my truth,
That when another causes us to anger, it is just a reminder of an internal issue, we have not yet dealt with.

While meditation and living in the now, are great tools to subdue anger, once we slip out of the moment, the anger can return, if the primal cause has not been dealt with.

We can use other means to release anger, but, still doesn't address the root problem, and does add to the collective energy of anger/fear, when we release it.
We create the anger energy, so it becomes our responsibility.

Seeing others who anger, as just young souls, regardless of their physical age, helps not to take on their energy/or react to it.
It becomes amusing to view an angry 50 year old, as a young soul/toddler throwing a tantrum.
