I got this Dzi (Tibetan Bead) 10 years ago, from an authentic store (site). It's about 700 years old, I think. I do like its color and veins (because of its ages). It is said it has a power to heal. Hmm...I'm not sure about that but it really makes me feel good. What is your favorite (healing) stone (or gem)? I only mean those that make you feel your inner energy.

Hi Monty,
My favourite stone(s) are Clear Quartz, Rose Quartz, Aquamarine and Amethyst
I like them each for their beautiful vibrations and how they feel. I have to be careful with crystals as some can feel hot to touch, depending on my own vibrations...my clear quartz can get very hot indeed at times. I like to place them around my Tibetan singing bowl and just use their vibrations that way to send and receive...if that makes sense

Hi Monty,
Have a number of stones, gems, crystals, chip of stone from Stonehenge, tibetan prayer medallion, a pine cone from a Sequoia - one of oldest trees known to live on earth etc. etc. Can't say I use them too often in healing directly but have tried healing experiments with them over the last 40 years - but I know many that do find them extremely helpful.
But a Tibetan prayer bead like yours was probably part of a set of beads, and IF it was used lets say by a devoted monk over many years and in 1000's of prayers - the stone would absorb that energy into it's energy field - so it may indeed have healing properties. Physical objects like crystals do have energy properties themselves and get intensified with continued use and intentions. Thinking also of properties of Relics etc also. Anyone ever work with any psychometry?
For Healing, I use mindfulness, meditation, alignment and Quiet mind practices to become the best compassionate conduit I can for centering and sending out focused Universal Healing energy to those I am working with.

What a cool bead, Monty (I went and read about it to see) I like crystals and stones but don't use them daily or anything; like Lorraine, I love amethyst but I have it in a necklace I like to wear; really brings me peacefulness and such, and I like it because I can wear it all the Time, if I want (I have a chakra necklace that I also love, but it's Strong, and I only wear it when I feel the need; like, 3 hours Tops, lol) Jewelry is now my favorite use for stones; I have a turquoise bracelet (on copper) from SA that protects me when worn inside out, and channels some for me when worn with stones turned out. The little psychometry I use shows me the strength of imprinted energy from people vs the energy from an object's contact with other energies (people have the stronger energy and I can see images more clearly, etc) but nature's older things (stones, beads, etc) feel different because they seem to carry both the imprint, and the emotion/sense energy of their origins, so it would be Neat to hold something like Monty's bead (or a Sequoia pinecone!)

Hi all,
I wrote my reply but accidentally deleted it. (I wrote many reply today) hahaha.
Ok, I was going to say that I had a hard time to think about how spiritual energy could transfer to the object (like amulet, stone etc.) If a bad guy wearing it, could it protect him? But if he is a real good guy, why he need that amulet for?

Monty.. sorry your responses got deleted ,, would have liked to read them..
I was surprised in your small response that you had a hard time thinking that energy could be transferred to physical objects?,, but maybe that isn't what you meant in small response
Dr Emoto's work ( sure you must have seen it?) is about water molecules but to me the same principles are at work... that our intent and thoughts do effect physical matter all the time on both cellular and energetic levels of conscious.
let me share video about Emoto's work if anyone hasn't seen his books or the movie where it is shown a little "What the Bleep, Do we Know?"
Amulets, crystals, stones to me are just usable tools or aids that some people work with, others don't.
There are many differnt Spiritual tools people use on their journey's --. in one sense meditation practices are just another set of usable tools also..

I love Arizona lava rock. It gets really hot, glows red, holds it's heat, and it has holes all over it. When you pour water on these hot stones it does not run off. The steam pours off of these rocks and shares its heat really well. And at 280*F even the most devout atheist starts screaming (Oh God PLEASE help me).

Hi Ace, Yes, I used to read (and translated some) work of Dr. Emoto. Sorry for the small response in my previous post. Hmm…How to put it? Ok, let’s start with this, yes, I agree that our intent and thoughts do (consciously and unconsciously) effect physical matter. But my point is, could our thought energy transfer (don’t know if I use the right word here, maybe transmit?) to an object? I even used to believe in telekinesis, I mean, someone in the past seemed to have this mental ability. But it’s rare to find anyone today to have this ability any more. Oh! sorry for my roundabout. I was going to say that, say, after our energy already transferred to the stone (or water etc.), that energy could transfer back to us or to someone else later? More complicated than that, could any spiritual person (guru) transfer his spiritual energy to some amulet, and that energy could really transfer back to someone else (layman) and benefit him? I used to be curious because in my country there’s a tradition to wear (a necklace with) some amulet (small Buddha image). They believe that amulet could protect them from any harm. Even it’s true that that amulet contains good/spiritual energy, but if a bad guy is wearing it, could it really protect him? I hope I don’t confuse you. It’s really hard to explain in English. Hahaha.

HI Monty.. thank you so much for longer response.
Working with many energy healers for last 40 years I totally do believe and have experienced that energy can be transferred on the physical, etheric, emotional, mental and spiritual levels of awareness. Also had the privilege to work with for many years, at the retreat center I lived at, a highly acclaimed clairvoyant who worked with medical doctors for 50 years of her long life. Nurses I know use to take cotton pads and consciously infuse it with healing energy which was then given to patients to aid in healing process.
Example - If energy is transmitted to a stone via meditative intent that energy becomes a part of the energy field of that object. If that makes sense. How long it will last and how powerful it is depends on person sending it, their inner connections, strength of intent and time spent on process. If one has awakened their inner sight they can visually see the energy connections on inner fields and is not just an idea. But sight is not needed in sending- just intent- an experiment anyone can try.
Energy is transfered from people, physical objects, thoughts and environments all the time. ( consciously or unconsciously) Yes it can go back and forth... some people have a more attuned receptivity in receiving, some have a more trained process in sending.
Sure most people have felt differing energies in different environments and places. Some in nature , - if one is religious it may be places of meditation or where reigious services are held etc.
An amulet can be infused with energy yes, the person wearing it gets that energy to a certain degree in their aura,, and can make it stronger if person wearing it connects with it to makes energy connection stronger. But it is not infallible that it will totally override personal energies - if person wearing it is totally centered in ego or being negative,,, that can override any positive usefulness the amulet can have.
Stronger created energies in physical objects can exist a very long time..especially in things like mala prayer beads.. being that it was repetitively used for spiritual purposes.

Many of you that know me are aware of my love for crystals and stones, and that I use them often. I always feel you are either one of 'those people' who believe without question or have a special affinity with them or you don't. And therein lies their power. As other's have said, we invest them with our energy and intention. I always think though it's a bit of a chicken and egg scenario. As in.. if we are drawn irresistably towards something, be it a crystal, stone, keepsake of sentimental value, religious medal, rosary beads or as in Donq's case a Dzi. Is it the item itself that pulls us in, in the first place. So that it takes on special significance for us, that makes these things work. Or is it simply that we attach such importance to them in the first place. Be it through supersition, spiritual or cultural beliefs? I have written a post on the subject of Amulets and Talismans quite a while ago. For anyone who is interested and would like to read more about the subject, here is the link. spiritualforum.me.uk/thread/868/amulets-talismansNow back to my favourite stones. I have to say it is difficult to choose as there are many that I love for different reasons. I always wear a Hematite Bracelet. I firmly believe that it protects me from emotional/psychic and environmental contamination or negativity. I'm lucky that they are so cheap, as I seem to go through at least 3 a year. Mmm I wonder if there is some significance in that. I have a silver ring with quite a large oval clear quartz crystal in it. I don't normally wear large stone rings as I have small hands, but this one drew me in from the first moment I saw it. When I wear it I always feel very energized and clear minded. Clear quartz is a natural amplifier of energy. One might say that because I believe this to be true, that is why I feel it works. But having on numerous occassions put it on when feeling absolutely shattered, but needing to be alert for an important job or task, it has always worked. I love Amethysts, and have them in the form of earings, rings and tumble stones. The stone in my engagement ring is an emerald cut Amethyst. Amethyst was the first crystal I ever bought for myself when I was about 17 years old. I loved the colour, I loved it's spiritual/symbolic meanings and have often used it for meditation and self healing. A couple of years ago, I went through a two month period of having really frightening dreams. A good friend told me to put a piece of Amethyst under my pillow. She said it would not rid me of the dreams persay, but help to take away the worst of the fear and the horrible physical reaction of waking with a racing heart. I'm happy to say, for me it worked. I sometimes dream about crystals. Periodically I go through phases of having very bad panic attacks. One night I had a dream and someone in the dream told me I needed some Kunzite. At the time this was not a crystal I'd heard of. So I looked it up and sure enough it said that Kunzite had strong metaphysical properties that aid you to lift your mood and to help you to heal emotional problems, such as anxiety and stress. Its vibration helps you to heal emotional problems as you release negative feelings and relieve panic and fear. I thought this was amazing and of course it also re affirmed for me the power of our dreams, and how we can receive help and guidance through them. My favourite pendent which I wear a lot, is a beautiful pear drop shaped Green Labradorite crystal. I bought it many many years ago on my first visit to Glastonbury. Initially I intended to give it to my Mum, but was so taken with it, I bought her something else, A fluorite pendent. I do not believe 'we' choose our crystals, I truly believe 'they' choose us. Here is a picture of a similar one. Mine is exactly the same shape and colour, but the setting of mine is in silver, rather then Gold as it appears in the picture. I do think anything that we are drawn to can embody energetic or spiritual qualities, even the most insignificant of things. The day after my Auntie Peb passed away, I was sat on a seat in my boyfriends mum's garden. I felt very sad and was really tearful. I felt so helpless as she was so far away when she died (she lived in Australia) I'd not been able to say goodbye or to tell her how much I loved her. All of a sudden I felt myself grow warm and became aware of a presence close to me. My eyes were suddenly drawn to the ground upon which a pathway had been created out of pebbles. You know the sort, that you can buy in big bags from any garden centre. One pebble just jumped out at me. It was dark in colour and seemed to shimmer. I bent down and picked it up and saw it was a perfect polished heart. As I held it, it seemed to grow very warm. In my mind I heard the words, you will always be in my heart. My rational mind told me I was being silly, that I was reading too much into a little stone found in the garden. But I could not put it down and slipped it in my pocket. I have had it ever since. And it brings me comfort. I guess at the end of the day, whether people believe or not, that inanimate objects do hold a special energy or power is immaterial. I think with this type of thing, its not the intellect or rational mind that connects with it. But something much deeper that cannot be put into words, nor should we have to. If it feels right and works for you then go with it. Love and light Kaz

I guess I like all crystals because they alone are so beautiful they do not need to be manufactured or enhanced by man. Plus you can look at them and see their internal atomic structure without any instruments or magnification. These are the only things I collect that never came from a factory or workshop. And to think they grow in the ground all by themselves!dioptase, Kazachstan, U.S.S.R.

Hi Ace,
You said, "But it is not infallible that it will totally override personal energies - if person wearing it is totally centered in ego or being negative...that can override any positive usefulness the amulet can have." Wow! So clear. Thanks.
Hi Karen, Beautiful pendent! Don't know why I do like a green stone. Hmm...the pebble you picked in that garden is so impressed. Can you post its photo for us to see? :-)
Hi Gruntal, Agree. I also like stones that do not need to be manufactured or enhanced by man.
P.S. Thanks everyone. I started this thread without any idea that most (if not all) of us do like stones, like me. hahaha. Though I'm still curious, why hot? Is there any stone that makes us feel cold? I mean energy always connects to hot, not cold?

Namaste Monty... when you said hot or cold in your last post... did you mean physically hot/cold or energetically hot/cold?
For myself I use these general classifications --- That some stones, gems etc are more activating /energizing, while others are have a more calming/relaxing effect energetically. I have experienced both kinds.
Actualy there is whole range of different energies some people feel different types of crystals have.
