When I lived in the forest, I didn’t have any problem with mosquito or any kind of insect. But after I’ve lived in a city, mosquito has become one of my big problem. Yes, even my house/room has mosquito wire screen at its windows and doors, but our mosquitoes is too smart. Those wire screens cannot keep them from becoming my uninvited guests.
I wonder if I had no mosquito wire screen, would I be more ok with them?
Somehow it’s different from a cold weather. The first day the temperature was down to 20 degree C, I felt terrible. (You might be laugh at this as that would be so cozy for you but the weather in Summer here is about 42 degree C!). Anyway, after some days, I felt better and better and even liked it.
Yes, my body has adapted to it.
As for our body, the more we exert our efforts (exercise) the more we gain our strength later more and more. But how about our mind? Does any troublesome/difficulty make our mind stronger or weaker?

I'm not sure. My mind gets very tired at times. Oddly things in the past I'v accepted don't seem to unravel. It is the new things that don't come naturally that border on incomprehensible. Concentration is not the natural state of things.
It freezes here so the fleas die off in the winter and never come back. There are still ticks and black widow spiders and scorpions and centipedes and rattlesnakes and tarantulas and cougars but they often can be avoided if you leave then alone. The trick is to think about where they might be and not go there or look very carefully before venturing on their territory. Alas I do not want to think when I am just stumbling down a path or lifting a box down from a shelf in the garage. It is easier to assume all will drop onto your lap. The nice harmless things.
At least there are not any bears here. I do not know how people can exist where there are tigers but they must develop a mindset to deal with that. Or they get eaten.
Time for my nap ....

I think it totally depends on incident and on person - where their consciousness was at the time it happened ( mentally, emotionally and physically) Also, over time they may see the difficulty in a new light -- it could be a point that led to further growth, or further karmic difficulty if person continued to dwell on it consciously or even unconsciously way beyond it usefulness.

I wonder if the mosquito is just another way of giving the Lesson, Monty. Perhaps?
There is a word called "desensitization" where we get Used to things, like the changes in the weather...I think it can be both positive and negative, a good thing or bad. For example, television has caused people to become 'desensitized' to violence so it no longer Bothers people...and shouldn't it?
On the other hand, I used to teach a depression group and shared about learning to 'desensitize', or get used to small things again. Some of these were even afraid to go outside now, because their depression had caused them to stay in a little room or two, etc. So I shared that we must become Uncomfortable again, little by little...first going out to the porch for awhile. Then to the yard...then the store...to become desensitized and able to Function in the world again.
I believe the Buddhists (and others) answer your last question every day, because it is not said that our suffering (or discomfort) causes us to be strong as a result?
