Next lets us explore the more Transcendent or Spiritual Archetypes of the planets Uranus and Neptune, then later Pluto. All three are what are called the Trans-Saturnian planets at a deeper level of consciousness then our personal personality selves at it most profound manifestations. All work with different types of energies of Spiritual Principles that we can evolve into and work from a higher or deeper state of consciousness - at their most natural state they can work through us for the good of humanity and the world. When the energy of theses planets are aligned with the personality self instead of being aligned to our higher purpose some of the more negative manifestations of their archetypes start to happen.
Uranus is the Magician of Our Higher Self- manifesting through unexpected but needed changes
Uranus archetypically is not totally aligned with the static father-figure Ouranos (uranus), but is also connected with the humanitarian rebel Prometheus. Prometheus was renowned for stealing fire (science and culture) from the gods and giving it to humanity.
Uranian Spirituality is aligned to the Higher Mind and Consciousness itself. It embraces that we live in a multidimensional universe with free-will. It is aligned to Hermetic Magic in that it realizes we need to know the Laws of magic and processes on all levels of our being to reach creative fulness. Magic is a potential but not a given unless the laws on all levels are learned. Higher mind, higher intelligence, genius, electrifying inspiration, illumination, brilliance, crystal clarity, lucid insight, the union of intelligence and spirituality are all connected to Uranus.
Uranus is the sudden and unexpected flash of Awakening , Illumination and Intuitive insights from our Higher Self. It takes place in the Present Moment shattering the limitations of awareness of the bound and conditioned Ego consciousness. Uranian energy is electric, filled with newness, freedom and higher intuitive insights. Uranus is the Higher Spiritual Mind called The Big Mind by some, the Higher Octave of Mercury (waking conscious mind). There is a Yang divine detachment.. a witnessing engagement a surveying wisdom inherent in awakened Uranus It speaks of True Individuality in the Jungian, sense which is deeper then the personality ego self and connected to our casual expansive Soul Awareness. Our true Soul destiny we incarnated to fulfill - nothing grand just the fulfiling of our highest purpose we as a connected individual needs to accomplish. It is our unique Pathway to "following our true connected bliss".
Uranus, God of the sky and the heavens, is the ruler of the sign of Aquarius. In Astrology, the energies of Uranus are electric and crammed with change. A lightening Bolt. Uranus is forward-looking. It balks at tradition, and celebrates originality and individuality. Uranus is associated with technology, innovation, discovery, and all that is progressive. Originality, inventions, computers, cutting-edge technologies and future events are all ruled by this planet. Uranus sees no need for the status quo, preferring instead to break with tradition ( Saturn) and create a new mold. While the building blocks (science, electricity) are safe here, this planet would rather focus its gaze on the new. Uranus shows where individuals look to stir things up, put a new spin on situations, and go against established thought or order.

Uranus is the voice of our Higher self trying to give us insight. When a person has an Uranus aspect effecting them, it may really be the voice of our Higher Self telling us we need to change, to expand. We usually hear it first as an intuition that something has to change, if we try to ignore it – our Higher more aware self will make things happen in our life that force us to change. Seen it happen time and time again. The hard part is that not every intuition we have is from the Highest within - some are from our ego desires. There is where we have to learn to discernment within ourself of which is which. Uranus is about Change,,, but sometimes after a Uranus transit passes one finds the changes are not lasting and one goes back to it’s old ways of acting and interacting. But still the Uranus change and excitement of at that cycle was needed for soul growth. A deeper change is via the archetype of Pluto - which is the Transformative and Transmutational death and annihilation of old and rebirth out of its ashes. Which we will explore those transformations of energy when we do the archetype of Pluto.
When Uranian energy has filtered down into the personally of a person ( and has not yet been integrated) they may have certain traits such as: rebelliousness, willfulness, quirkiness, and also originality. They need to rebel against the status quo. Here is a list of some of the other possible Shadow aspects of Uranus energy and archetype: Mania, ADD, erratic behavior, quirkiness, impatience, chronic problems with authority figures, inability to cooperate, unwillingness to tolerate structure or limitation of any kind, unwillingness to commit, an excessive urge for freedom, freedom for its own sake, flash-in-the-pan rebellion, rebelling against the wrong things, fool’s gold, false breakthroughs. - Hubris, inflation, “Christ complex,” delusions of genius.
Many younger people come in these days with that Uranian electric energy that needs to be channeled efficiently for themselves and others or it can lead to havoc.
The Archetypical ongoing battle of Saturn versus Uranus -The eternal battle of the Old established rules and authority of Saturn in contrast to the New innovative energy of Uranus trying to come in has been an ongoing clash throughout humanity’s existence. One must let the old past on in order to make way for the new both inwardly and outwardly. Saturn wants to hold on and keep its authority,, the Uranus religiousness wants change NOW. This struggle happens within the world, politics and within oneself - the ongoing question is will it or can it even happen peaceful or does it only manifest through pain and bloodshed?
The Tarot card which most signifies the changing nature of Uranus when it comes into our consciousness is the Lightening Struck Tower. A Lightening bolt comes from above ( Higher Self), knocking off the false crown of authority, shattering the building ( our ego structures) and throwing out our old self and conditioned patterns out the window.
