...Actually, if you look closely enough, it's the Same perspective - just reworded.
I have mentioned this before in other times, but one of the things we fear the Most, is simply the Unknown. It seems more frightening to us, even, than the Known, which is demonstrated in cases of familial abuse – we go Back to our abuser, over and again, because at least we Know what it is we face, no matter how heartbreaking. The “unknown” is simply That – unknown, with no clear-cut limits, no certain beginnings or ends, and what could Possibly be worse than that?
The other thing we fear greatly, as humans, is loss of Control No matter How we deny it, the need for control drives almost All of our behavior in one way or another. Personally, I can’t handle a roller coaster ride, and not just because it makes my tummy feel funny! Also because I Know, once I get in my seat and strap in, I am Obligated to finish the ride before getting out – I have no Control, once the train starts moving.
This “time” is a time of Panic, don’t cover it up – the world is Changing, roles are being redefined, upgrades are ongoing and (among other things) there is a Spiritual Movement afoot that is scaring the Heck out of lots of longstanding religions. It’s a Natural fear; like of the unknown, and of losing Control.
I want to remind you of the flowers outside your home…I admit I daydreamed through school, but we All know that the plant grows from a seed, does it not? And needs sunlight and rainwater to be nourished and grow…..as far I am Certain, we have known of this truth for over 6,000 years – maybe longer!
Through the ages a number of people have thought there was More to the story than just that, of course, and some experimented… but history has basically misplaced this information because those “forward thinkers” were the Exception, not the rule; only in the last 175 years or so has scientific discovery “caught on” about photosynthesis and other Inner Workings of the flora around us…once it Did catch on, we Ran with it! Artificial environments, hybridized plants and crops, trying both to Feed the masses and to Manipulate them; to Save the Earth and to Control it. *sigh*
I’m not off on a tangent, I promise; I’m still talking about world religions, and Change, and Fear, and Loss of Control…..we are SO afraid in this quest for so-called “Truth”, that our ways will be Destroyed! Or Taken Over by Wrong Thinking! …or worse – that someone Else will turn out to be Right.
It’s still not About that; you see, even with the discovery of photosynthesis, and all the ways the plant is growing and being nourished from the Inside, in Truth – we have not Replaced the original information: it still comes from a seed, and still needs (sun)light and (rain)water to be nourished and grow. Nothing has been destroyed! Nothing has been lost!
We have Expanded our knowledge. And the next thing we begin to notice, is how the plant is formed in General: how it grows toward, around and within its Greater environment; how everything Else is arranged around it; how Everything reflects everything Else, in light of the Big Picture.
Scary thought for the day: What if it turns out that Everyone is right?
Love and Wisdom,
Mary Anne
