Greeings from Georgia (USA)

Hello everyone,

I'm a newbie here and am hoping to connect with like-minded souls and discovering my 'spiritual family'. I live in Southeast Georgia but was born and raised in New Jersey (still a Jersey Girl at heart ). Though I'm American I call myself an Anglophile because I've had a love affair with all things British from as far back as I can remember - and still dream of visiting my 'home' one day. (I know I lived across the pond in previous lifetimes...)

Anyway, I've always felt like a 'square peg in a round hole' because I consider myself a "free spirit" and don't fit in with society's standard of 'normal'.  Ever since I was a young girl I've been interested in all matters related to the mystical and magical - and have studied astrology, numerology, Wicca and Paganism, reincarnation, angels & spirit guides, UFO's, etc...basically everything and anything categorized under the umbrella term of "New Age".  I'm also an empath and have strong intuition which at times can feel like both a blessing and a curse!

Hi. My past came from Europe but settled in the Deep South U.S.A. and eventually where I am now. Which is on the low desert in California on the other side of the continent! At some level it seems everyone here where I live is more or less displaced. We just find out more about that as we grow older I guess.

But home is where you are happy !

I live in the UK, and am a Reiki healer. I also use crystals for healing and meditation. I have a deep interest in Dreams and their interpretation. I am also an avid reader, and love anything metaphysical, mediumistic and connected to spiritual growth. I am sure you will love it here.

We are a diverse group, with different beliefs, but share a common bond of loving all things to do with spirituality and growth. I am sure you will find many likeminded other's here to chat with. Leon - as for the 'red phone box', I've seen on Pinterest that some of them are now being used as a library of sorts where people drop off and take books...don't know how true it is (I've seen photos of booths being used as such) but I guess one still can communicate via a text book if necessary like in the olden days...

Gruntal - my family lineage goes back to Europe, predominantly Celtic though, but some German and Italian thrown in the mix - guess you could say I'm a 'Heinz 57'! LOL

Kaz - you definitely sound like a person I can connect to and could even be a kindred spirit. I have a Facebook friend who is a Reiki Master. I have several crystals that I keep in a pouch in my handbag for 'good luck'. One is a very special moonstone that I bought 'many moons' ago. Like you, I'm an avid reader and have an insatiable hunger to acquire knowledge beyond the five senses...to know my purpose for being here and WHY?  "Know Thyself" are the two most important words in my vocabulary. I'm still on a spiritual quest but I believe it takes many lifetimes before one can become enlightened enough to 'see the Light'. I feel like an old soul but nonetheless must go through the rigors of soul testing to 'get it right' and become one with my Higher Self. I'm sure you get my meaning.

Again, it's nice to be acquainted with you all.

Well kiss my grits We're practically Neighbors, as I live in SC! And I am an empath too - on another website for that, but I Long for the spiritual talks that I will likely find here and on more directly Spiritual sites - anyway, nice to meet you!

I'm not really new to being Awake, spiritually, but only since May of this year have I embarked on this, ah, Journey; I have a spirit guide now who is 24/7 and others who come and go, so we're on kind of a "crash course" to catch me Up on things!

I think we're pretty fortunate now - here - in no longer being "forced" to fit into previous ideas of conformity...we can learn who we are Meant to be, without fear or shame. For this I am grateful, mysticmoonchild - I know there are a Number of places in the world who do not enjoy this freedom, and I hurt for them.

FYI, I am kind of an 'old soul', yet in her First incarnation - we are all on the journey, learning and growing Together

Hello Mary Anne! It's wonderful to meet a like-minded person who is geographically close by! Where in SC do you live? I used to live in Florence (not be confused with the Italian city ) in the mid 90's. Maybe it's a small world after all.

So you're an empath too, eh? It can be SOOO challenging at times which I'm sure you can relate to but it's always nice to meet others' who are as well because we have an innate 'understanding' of one another.

It's interesting you mention that you're an 'old soul' yet this is your first incarnation...I assume you mean on this planet?

I technically didn't have a true 'spiritual awakening' until the mid 90's but due to my life's circumstances it took a 'backseat' around the millennium until this past April when I had a 're-awakening' (a long and complicated story and one I'd rather not delve into on a public forum - but will gladly explain privately). I once read a quote that, "Earth is the schoolhouse in which we learn our lessons" (don't know who penned it) and I do believe we are here for that very reason. Also that, "In life we are given the test and must learn the lesson" which definitely feels that way to me based on the experiences I've been through. Astrologically speaking, Saturn is a heavy player in my natal chart (the planet of karma). But my mind is running all over the place now - which it has a tendency to do when I'm thinking too fast! LOL

Hi Linda! I know where Florence is I'm from the middle of the state, just below Columbia - kinda dry, flat and Boring - lol! But it's Home.

I'm a human empath, and not quite so introverted as some, which "to me" makes it seem easier, but yes, there are Sooo many challenges when learning to Walk in this world without being overwhelmed, etc.

I understand about your past awakening and more recent "re" - I did the same, first being awakened (by being hit on the head with fire, long story) in 1987 but after a few years in my conservative situation I began Frightening people and second-guessed myself into dozing back off. Plus I also have a diagnosis of bipolar 1 disorder, so my moods cycle and I have to Watch to guard myself and stay Balanced. Just re-awakened on an empath site in May, and the roller coaster ride is On, lol.

I have learned my home origin, Linda, and it's been interesting as I have had ZERO background in Anything before this year: not Eastern religions, not awakenings (per se), not aliens or Higher Self - seriously. ...and yet, it's all Here, in my mind...like being Home, even though I don't remember it exactly...

Yes, we are Definitely here for a Reason. And I intend not to miss Another Minute of it.
