Ok so I had this nightmare last night that really has been bugging me and any insight would be greatly appreciated! Apologies for the length!
Ok so it started with a renowned bike thief (who is an actual person I know!) standing next to my bed about to beat me with a baseball bat. I woke up, I was too scared to look because it felt so real, like he was really there, I was bracing myself for the impact. I fell asleep and woke up again like this a few times before the nightmare started "/
I was outside a block of flats about to go in and the guy above was also outside. Someone told me not to let him in because he was trying to rape a girl inside. But when I let myself in he pushed the door, I couldn't hold it and he got in. Inside the block of flats it was huge and posh, like a hotel, so I went and told security that he had got in, who he was and what he was trying to do. I went to a sort of safe house with some other people. There was a detective there asking me questions about what happened, I was telling him and then he stopped talking, I was like "what??" He told me that the guy (who I will name phill) had just walked past the door and into another room??? The detective told me to go and apologise so he wouldn't hurt me?? So I walked into the room and he was lying on the bed, I laid next to him and stroked his face, begging him to forgive me, he was crying. I'm not sure what happened next but I had to find somewhere to hide. I found a small church, other people were hiding behind plants, but I didn't feel safe and knew phill wanted to kill me, so I looked for somewhere safer in the church. I found a tiny stairway that had been blocked off, so I opened it and went up. It opened to a tiny room, with a little girls bed by a window, that was all new and pink, and a shabby grey double bed, my partner appeared. It was dark and I looked out the window and seen my friends little girl who is 4 walking alone so I went and grabbed her and took her to the room, I looked after her, she said she had ran away coz her parents were fighting. She then turned into a baby and I was changing her nappy and giving her breakfast.
Next I'm in another house with a girl, phil had got in and was upstairs. I went up to try and sort everything out, but seen an open pack of razor blades on the bathroom floor so went down to call an ambulance. He appeared downstairs while I was on the phone and killed the woman I was with, then held a shotgun to my face. Next thing we are both in water, the police shoot him and tell me he's dead but he's biting my arm under the water??? Then we decide to team up (me and phill) and go out shooting people together??? But with rubber bullets???
Really crazy and disturbed me quite a bit!!!!

Greetings and welcome to our forum.

I know very less about dream interpretation but know some about unconscious (thinking) interpretation, does that count? And this is just my causal talking/listening, to comfort you a bit, as a friend to a friend, so please don’t take it seriously, ok?

Carl Jung used to work with “word association.” If I said, “bite” what is the first word that comes to your mind? (“dog” or “snake” etc.) If “needle” – “prick”, "thread"? etc.

[This is very delicate stuff. For example, there’s the huge differences between, says, “dog” that arose in your mind “unconsciously” (but you saw it) and word “dog” that came to your mind after you was consciously thinking of the word “bite” for a while, even only for a few seconds.]

Anyway, I believe that the goal of dream interpretation is to understand the dreamer, not the dream. And the more the dreamer could detach herself from her dream, the more she could see it clearly and understand herself clearer. Then she could dodge the bullet in the movie and return to her seat as an audience watching that movie, and was safe there.

There are some dreams that are meaningful, but some are not. So what we are going to talking is in the context that this dream of yours is meaningful, agree?

First thing first, if this was the movie you are watching right NOW, what do you think? What is the first thing that comes to or arise (unconsciously) in your mind?

Second, about the main character, Phill, a renowned bike thief who you really know, how and why he appeared in this picture/movie? Is he really a renowned bike thief in the real life? And when did the last time you meet him? If not, whom did he remind you of?

Third, that little girl, 4, reminds your of whom? Your daughter? Or yourself in your childhood?

If you can “see” these main characters more clearly, You can know its connection and it will help you to understand your dream and yourself better.
As for the last part of your dream, I don’t think it’s much significant (though it might seem so.) I believe that you (and we all) got that a lot from the movies we watched and novels we read. And they embedded/intruded into our (unconscious) minds without our permissions.
