I've been thinking about personal legend lately. Thanks to Paulo Coelho. Finally I realize that it has something to do with my soul mate. It's such a long process to find it. But I think that's mine. How's yours?

I do not have a personal legend. I supose that is rather sad. But at some level it becomes a fetish. Something you must do. Being driven can become an end to itself.
It gets tiring after awhile. "It was suggested" I needed a rest.
I seem to notice it takes a long time for some people to grow up; about as long as the others have to live. Maybe the foundation is harder to achieve or maybe a radical change in course has occurred. Or maybe you just need to learn how to have fun. There are different levels of fun and games. People assume you must be at the top when you never understood the bottom yet. If that is your lot at least you have your calling: to discover and re-discover everything untill it starts to make sense.

Hey baangus,
Personal legend is as it's referred to in The Alchemist (Paulo Coelho), is one's destiny in life. It's identifying our purpose in life and pursuing it.

Hey Gruntal,
Thank you for the insight. I think I can understand your point and yes for me it's like my calling. Something that always be with me but I just noticed it. It's really about finding my fate. What I desire the most.

Hey baangus, Personal legend is as it's referred to in The Alchemist (Paulo Coelho), is one's destiny in life. It's identifying our purpose in life and pursuing it. Oh I see. Well, after 6 decades of life, I have definitely found my personal legend: it's called the last 6 decades of my life! Life and our personal unfolding spiritual journey is what happens while we're busy making other plans and looking around for our personal destiny etc.

It's an interesting concept for sure.

Once some time ago in a state of deep meditative awareness I had a clear conviction of two of the reasons why I'm here. Life has since intervened and given me other things I have to do first, but that conviction has never left me and I hope to share that unique service with the world some day -- when I'm mature enough.
On the one hand I really do agree with Bangus -- life is all about being happy and not looking for any activity to give us meaning -- yet, while we're here on the planet we have to do *something*, and I would prefer to spend my days making a lasting footprint in the hearts of others -- as best I can, without getting freaked out when great service doesn't come my way.
