Hi Alena,
Donq has been very helpful in putting on a diagram of the chakra's for you. 'Chakra' is a Sanskrit word literally meaning "wheel." These centers were named as such because of the circular shape to the spinning energy centres which exist in our subtle etheric body, the non-material energetic counterpart to our physical body. There are seven main chakras and they are located along the spine extending out the front and back of the body. Each chakra is associated with a certain part of the body and a certain organ which it provides with the energy it needs to function.
Just as every organ in the human body has its equivalent on the mental and spiritual level, so too every chakra corresponds to a specific aspect of human behavior and development. They vibrate at different levels relative to the awareness of the individual and their ability to integrate the characteristics of each into their life. The openness and flow of energy through our chakras determines our state of health and balance. Below for your information and to get you started - I have shown some information related to the 'root' chakra. This is but a small taste, as there is too much to cover in full on here.
Colour Red, location Base of spine (coccyx). Symbolic meaning: Physical grounding. You are in your body. You’re “home.” You’re “here.” All your focus is on this life, in this body, time and place. It has all your attention. Buddhists say this is our “earth connection. Feminine because it connects one with Mother Earth (Gaia), is nurturing and is nurtured by connection with others.
Sound: Bass tone, Percussion, Brass and Piano
Fears: Physical survival, Group abandonment, Loss of respect by family/tribe/peer group. Strengths: Support and loyalty from family/tribe, Physical vitality, Strong life force/Vital Force. Physically strong; has great endurance and strength.
Physical rulership in body: Organs: physical body support; base of spine; legs, bones, coccyx (tailbone) , feet, rectum, and the immune system.
Metaphysical: Root and source of the Kundalini, Learning to work within family/community, The “I” becomes immersed and dissolved into the 'WE'.
It is generally recognized that the spinning vortex of the chakra should be steady and rhythmic. Too fast, it is over active. Too slow - underactive. There are meditations & visualizations available online or in books on auric health and energy work, that you can use to help diagnose and heal - to bring chakra's into normal range for optimum wellness & health on all levels. From your comment on your post, re your root chakra or first chakra being steady, if you are referring to the base as your starting point, that would indicate it is working within normal range.
I hope this helps elena.
Love and light Kaz

Hi Kaz, As you have been a Reiki healer for many years, from your experience, can a Reiki healer help balancing charkas of other person? I know that for healing it can be. But don’t know if it works for charkas, too? (I mean in case of developing more subtle charkas.) P.S. Your post about charkas is easy to read and understand, Thanks.

Hi Monty, I absolutely love your picture. It did make me smile. Yes, a reiki healer can help to balance the chakra's. They can also help to clear any blockages from the aura and balance it too. As you probably know, there are many energy centres, known as minor chakra's besides the 7 major ones. Which is something I don't think many realize. I believe that when a healer channels the healing energy. These too will receive whatever they need to function better if there is a problem. I hope this answers your question correctly. Love and light Kaz

Hi Alena, I remembered I'd started a post on our alternative therapies board on Reiki & The Chakras. You might find it and the replies useful and interesting to read. Here is the link to it. www.spiritualforum.me.uk/thread/3462/reiki-chakrasLove and light Kaz
