There’s a style in writing called “Economical Writing.” I’m kind of like it. As Franz Kafka wrote: “I think we ought to read only the kind of books that wound or stab us. If the book we're reading doesn't wake us up with a blow to the head, what are we reading for? So that it will make us happy, as you write? Good Lord, we would be happy precisely if we had no books, and the kind of books that make us happy are the kind we could write ourselves if we had to. But we need books that affect us like a disaster, that grieve us deeply, like the death of someone we loved more than ourselves, like being banished into forests far from everyone, like a suicide. A book must be the axe for the frozen sea within us. That is my belief.”
Anyway, what I try to do on this post is about how to answer the question in only 10 words. Please try it. Thanks. What is spirituality? It is to understand life as it really is. (9 words)

My answer would be very simple Donq. "Love All As One" 4 words.. I have been practising economical writing and speaking for a long time. You lose people's attention if you beat about the bush, also you impart no knowledge or understanding if you cut things too short. So you have to make every word count.

Hmmm....then, what is love? For me, love is "care for other than oneself, always can forgive and forget" (10 words with a bit cheating. )

Hmmm…so, at this point, spirituality is… “Understanding, loving, seeing spark, spirit connecting with all as one” (10 words! )

Spirituality is simple: cultivate joy, love and reverence for life.

Once, when I was a member of some penpal site, I found something like the following female profile many times: Married woman: looking for stable, handsome, nice, well educated men. (I tried to brief it into 10 words for this thread. ) What do you think after you read this kind of profile? Hmm….. Ernest Hemingway once wrote a story in just six words: FOR SALE: BABY SHOES, NEVER WORN. Do you think what the story tells? A newborn infant just has died? The mother was in the desperate situation and had to find some money by selling something like the baby shoes? Or she just could not bear with it because it always reminded her of the joyful time when her baby was still alive? Or all above were wrong! She just had bought the wrong size shoes for her baby? Or bought too many of them (hence, this pair of shoes still “never worn”) and just wanted to get rid of it? etc. I don’t mean to talk about literature’s interpretation here. Only wondering how our minds work. Why do we think so many things/reasons like that after we read those six words? How do we know for sure which reason is the right one? And we really need to know?
