If you could be born again, what would you come back as? Would you change sex, would you want to be an animal, a bird or maybe a fish? Would you like to be someone completely different to yourself. Or would you just like to come back as you?

Hi Leon,
A very interesting question and one I have never actually asked myself. Of course I have said many a time “maybe in my next life....” but I have never really thought about it. And although it’s a very simple question you have asked, the reply is far harder to think of, for me anyway. If I could be born again...what would I come back as? Hmmmm...
I think if I were given an opportunity and choice to come back, I would not be bothered too much about what sex or species I would return as, but I would like to have my ‘consciousness’ at the same level it is now or maybe even a little more advanced, I would not like to return to find I have to start all over again! I would like to be able to find the balance quicker next time, being able to enjoy life more without allowing my spiritual side to suffer and vice versa.
I would like to feel present, whole and balanced in mind, body and spirit at all times. I find it hard to do this continuously now, so I would like to be able to do that next time around, if given a choice. If I were not able to come back as some kind of 'conscious' animal then I would like to return as some form of nature, maybe a crystal or part of a natural ecosystem.
A very interesting question indeed Leon, I think I will have to ponder on this a little longer. I do hope others will reply also.
Love and Light

I've been saying for years: I plan on reincarnating as a 40-50 year old. I love knowing who I am now, and I hated the 4-5 decade process it took to reach my current stage of self-awareness.

How ur gonna rebirth as ur self?? Hi tiki. How am I gonna rebirth as my essential self? The Dalai Lama does it. Jesus, Buddha and other ascended masters have, in full consciousness, all reincarnated in different bodies over the past centuries. So it must be possible!

Ya except its different body different family different life. ALWAYS ur gonna be same self but not same life. Well I didn't say anything about returning in the same body. I assume I'll be female next life, I've heard that's how it works but who knows. On the other hand, I thought I read that ascended masters supposedly return in the same body. Just like there's an essential self, it sounds like there's an essential 'appearance' as well. I assume all this happens once one has reached a particular stage of enlightenment. Not saying I'm there yet!

Wow! Great question Leon :-) Earlier today I was watching a video in which dolphins were jumping and playing in the open sea. Someone had commented that when they reincarnate, they're coming back as a dolphin. I love that idea! To me, they bring a message of happiness ... a reminder to play and enjoy life. One day I will be able to swim with them, it's been a lifelong dream. Then, maybe I will come back as one in my next life. Or, at least it is my hope that (if I have to be human again) I will have that message to share with others. "Be happy within yourself, jump, play, and enjoy your life, your being, your existence." I also agree with baangus in that I'd like to "find my way" a little sooner in life. But, maybe that is what this life is about for me, gaining knowledge etc. that will be helpful in that manner in my next life. Good stuff to think about though, I like the topic a lot!

My "group therapy" sessions have given me some amazing insights of my past, present, and future that I probably can not divulge. I do get the impression I recieved rather a lot of personailty traits by my choice but the choices were no better then the wisdom of the one who made them. I got more ( or less) then I bargained for!
I have already glimpsed myself in the future and it is looking good. But I apparently will not and can not reincarnate as I am now. Thank goodness! The only thing that I suspect is not set in stone is my attitude.
I hope to reincarnate as a proud self assured person not afraid to persue a goal and enjoy it with out ambivalence. A sense of purpose would be most welcome. But that will also entail a commitment on my part - something I chose not to do this time around.
I might should get some experience now at the local airport to prepare me. But the technical aspects will work themselves out in the future. That is what I am good at. And what I hope to return doing.

Hi Leon,
Good question, I have all ways felt,, I do not know my full Soul's Consciousness enough yet to answer that fully ( Soul's Consciousness to me it that level of memory of all the many lifetimes and many lessons my Soul has lived though over many incarnations).. When I do pass on and reawaken to those memories (and clearly see the karmic patterns I have) and with the help of my inner guides, teachers and soul companions -- then i will know a bit more of my overall next incarnate journey and intimations of things i need to learn, grow out of or into and general patterns of things to do in my next time around. I will have a new body, new personality and ego and new conditions, but it will also be tempered with seeds of my past karmic predicaments. The new life will be new but come with a working blueprint.
sorry for being so wordy but wanted to get my full understanding of process into my answer.

This is obviously fanciful. We do not "reincarnate" as animals. That would be "transmigrate", if it were true, which, in my experience, it is not.
But for conversation's sake, I'd like to come back as "me", fully conscious and intact, mentally and identity- wise, just to see what such a trip would be like.
There have been many times in my life in which I said, "If I only knew then, what I know now.", and coming back as "me", would be as close as I can get to that, I suspect.
It seems to me that about the time we really begin to see where the journey leads and what our experiences add up to, the journey ends. I'd like to see what doing it in a different way would be like.

Id like to be an eagel that flyes around for its food, but I believe I was befor, only rember being a baby chick with 2 brothers, learning to fly, any way I learned once we reincarnate to human form, we evolve in human form, meaning we don't go back to to mineral, plant or animal no more, its Gods way to give us indivuality and mature our Soul , and if Soul carrys all these memories, it wouldn't want to go back to experience them again I don't think anyway I would think it would want to advance in human form to have a consiousness to learn who we realy are.

Hi Leon, If I had the choice over my next rebirth, I am happy to come back as either a man or a woman, but I would like to have retained more of the memories of important lessons learned in this life-time. I would also like to have left myself a message from my previous life, which I will find in my new life. Would be an incredible affirmation of reincarnation. To vinay, I would say at 17 you already have an amazing thirst for knowledge and a very mature spiritual outlook on life. Seems to me you already have your wish on that score. I dobelieve that we learn a lot through ordinary life experiences. And that you have plenty of time in this life to find your mystical path and a teacher if that is your destiny. Being more straight away into a mystical yogi environment, may rob you of the valuable experience to be found in the outside world. Just something for you to consider. Love and light Kaz
