Hi Grooveybear,
Welcome to the Dream Board.
I am sorry to hear of the loss of your Grandad. Please accept my sympathies and condolences, to you and your family.
In Hindu beliefs, Ganesh, is one of the best known and loved deities in the Hindu pantheon of gods, and indeed is the most recognized of the Hindu gods outside of India. Ganesh (also spelled Ganesa or Ganesha and known as Ganapati, Vinayaka and Pillaiyar) is the Lord of Good Fortune who provides prosperity, fortune and success. He is the Lord of Beginnings and the Remover of Obstacles of both material and spiritual kinds. Interestingly, he also places obstacles in the path of those who need to be checked.
Because of these attributes, Ganesh is widely revered by almost all castes and in all parts of India, regardless of any other spiritual affiliations. His image is found everywhere, in many different forms, and he is invoked before the undertaking of any task. Ganesh is also associated with the first Chakra, or energy wheel, which underpins all of the other Chakras and represents conservation, survival and material well-being. He is considered to be a patron of the arts and sciences and of letters. Devotees believe that if Ganesha is worshiped, he grants success, prosperity and protection against adversity. In a lesser known role, Ganesh is also the destroyer of vanity, selfishness and pride.
In dream symbology the house represents the dreamer's 'self'. Each room within the house symbolises the many different aspects, beliefs and attitudes that you have in life. Your perception of the world and how you believe you are perceived by others. Do you know which room you were in when your feet were being washed?
In your dream, your feet are being washed. The feet represent grounding and balance. Nerve centres and reflex points are in the feet, vital to conducting energy, balancing and healing the body. To see your feet being washed means that you are receiving healing. To wash something is also symbolic of purification as well as cleansing. The pain you feel in the dream I believe relates to a specific pressure point in the foot that is being manipulated. Very much like the holistic therapy, Reflexology. If you can remember which part of the foot you felt the discomfort from, it would be helpful in terms of understanding which part of your emotional/physical/spiritual aspect needs attention.
The nurse in your dream represents healing ability, the need for care and nurturing. Though all characters in our dreams are on one level, simply a aspect of the dreamer, so the nurses appearance in the dream is also a reminder to you. To be caring and loving to yourself. To nurture your own needs as well as allowing other people to take care of you. Many people do experience receiving spiritual healing in their dreams, particularly at times in their lives when they have not been well or are going through a very difficult experience. You have just recently lost someone you loved and will no doubt being feeling the affects of that loss. The grief process can affect people quite profoundly. I believe your dream is a very powerful healing dream.
To feel pain in a dream indicates suppression, or avoidance of a problem. Disharmony in physical, mental, emotional or spiritual self. Aside from the obvious stressful life experience you are going through. Are there any other problems going on around you that are making you feel anxious and worried in waking life? Is there some life issue you are not dealing with, or feel unable to face? If you have never received reflexology in your waking life. On one level, this dream is showing you that this form of holistic therapy might be very beneficial to you, and something to consider having. You say the pain is in the right foot, though both feet are being cleansed. The right side of the body symbolically is connected to giving, creativity & God-awareness.
Be watchful of how much of your own energy is being given to helping others. While it is a wonderful thing to care for others, to be of service. It is very important you do not deplete your energy to such a point, where your own health and well being starts to suffer. If you are a creative person, channel some of your attention into those areas. Not only will this be relaxing and take your mind off your troubles, it might also provide you with some financial independence in the future. Such as making a living from it. You are someone who is drawn to the spiritual aspect of life. I believe, that connection was shown clearly, by the fact that this healing dream came just after your bought your figurine. A dream like this I would say is a confirmation, if you needed one, that you are loved and protected.
I hope this helps grooveybear. This is only my interpretation of your dream. Please only take from it that which is meaningful to you and leave the rest. I would appreciate your feedback.
Love and light Kaz

The first thing to understand about dreams is that all the people in your dream are you, they are just different interpretations of you
The second thing to understand about dreams is that whats going on in the dream is not as important as how the dream made you feel inside when you woke up
I can interpenetrate the dream for you as follows
Your grandfathers death will effect you of course but its how we react that matters, your reaction to the death of your grandfather was an unconscious one, I will explain
The nurse washing your feet to hard and causing you pain is a sign that you are very hard on your self and maybe in some way blame your self for you grandfathers death or are punishing your self for not being the perfect granddaughter
The nurse represents the caring you or the part of you that should care for you but she is hurting you instead of caring for you
This dream is telling you to have some compassion for your self and be more gentle towards your self
One of the most common problems human beings have is they beat themselves up to much and they struggle with caring for themselves but can care for others and not for themselves
So the pain represents self flagellation or being to hard on your self, remember the nurse is not separate she is you
In simple terms the dream is about you being to hard on your self
Have some compassion for your self and you will see the difference in your life very quickly
I hope this helps

Thank you for giving your own insight and interpretation on groovybears dream Barry. But this dream was put on in Feb 2014, just over a year ago. It is unlikely that groovybear will see it. If you feel compelled to do any more interpretations, please check the date the dream was posted on, so that you are current. Love and light Kaz
