Iv been told about grounding and realised today that i dont do any energy work on my lower half of my body, i usually do head chest and stomache and arms sometimes as i can hold and almost mold my energy in my hands So it has lead me to post a question about grounding and how does it envolve the legs?

Hi Spiral,
Grounding and protection is an important part of spiritual practice. Particularly when someone opens themselves up to spiritual energy; such as mediumship, spiritual healing and energy work. The Grounding is important, because when opening up spiritually and energetically to the universal energy we need to be balanced. To explain. When you open up your crown chakra to take in the spiritual/universal energy; there can be a tendency to feel light headed or a bit spaced out, if there is no outlet for it. So it is important to have a strong connection to the earth/ground. It anchors you so to speak.
It is also believed that symbolically and energetically, by having a strong heaven and earth connection, you create a powerful channel for the healing energy to pass through. What is not used by you, or for instance if you are channeling healing. Will then go through you and be absorbed into the earth. Rather then becoming 'stuck'. Stuck energy, can build up and in some people create symptoms which can feel very uncomfortable. As I mentioned before, a feeling of lightheadedness; tingling, tension and a feeling of agitation or nervous energy. There are a variety of grounding visualisations you can use. A favourite of mine, is to imagine roots, or vines are growing out of my feet. I see these roots, plunging deep into the ground. Sometimes I see them go so deeply, I can see hot lava flowing past. Some people imagine they are wearing heavy boots, like old fashioned diving boots. You can choose any imagery you want. As long as it makes you feel heavy and weighted down, or joined to the earth. If you find even after using a grounding visualisation, you still feel lightheaded. Drink a couple of glasses of water. Or go outside and get some fresh air and stamp your feet hard. To reinforce that connection to the earth. Some people even like to immerse their hands in soil.
Protection is an important part of spiritual work, because it is needed to protect your auric field/energy from any negative attachments or low spirit entities. Even though many choose to do energy work for the highest of intentions. We can still attract energy that is not of the same vibration. Particularly those who are feeling a little vulnerable, tired or feel anxious or depressed. Really, I would not recommend anyone do any energy work when they are not feeling 100 percent. Unless it is for self healing. But even then, it is important to always use protection. I like to visualise myself enveloped in a golden bubble or a white light. Some people like to use other imagery, such as a large cloak. I've even known someone imagine themselves incased in medieval armour. Whatever appeals to your imagination. You can use prayer, or a protective affirmation, calling on powerful beings of protection and light from your personal belief system.
There really are no hard and fast rules about what to use and what not to use, as long as it fulfills its purpose. The important thing is that it instills you with a feeling of strength and protection. Strength of mind is important. Remember you are always in control. Particularly for those people who are practicing mediumship or developing their mediumship skills. If you encounter anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. Then very firmly tell it to leave. For me the lords prayer and a part of the creed from St Patrick's breastplate works very powerfully, on the rare occasions I have felt afraid or threatened. And that is rare. Maybe 3 or 4 times in the last twenty years. For the rest of the time I use a simple visualsation and ask that only spirit and energy of the highest vibration come through me.
I hope this helps spiral Love and light Kaz

Hi spiral. I would recommend Qi Gong. Great for breathing, relaxation, meditation, balancing, and it involves working with the whole body. And I personally would stay away from thought forms and mental ideas that might lead you away from what it is you appear to be wanting, which I interpret as inner balancing exercises of a physical nature.

Thank you baangus, i can relate to qi gong as its energy flows through the meridian, i experiance this in asmr, certain stimulation and different forms of relaxation, strong, slow, wavy and euphoric, i have hardly felt any energy in my legs? I dont know why, i have few times, that was goosbumps from asmr, sound stimulated my legs, was nice and odd in a interesting way, as i was saying, i mostly focus through my third eye to flow relaxing energies into my meridian, my meridian is more responsive these days, been open when relaxed, absorbing sounds and relaxing to the visual stimuli which is respectfully intented, i dont know much about asmr, only my experinces in relaxation by using my chakras and meridian, they linked somehow asmr/chakra/meridian Meridian to me is the final stimuli that surges through body, head mostly for beginners, then chest, arms neck ect, but i only experianced legs few times, thats strong stimuli
Thank you for sharing your advice on qi gong, cleared few things up and linked some interest of mine to qi gong, i was surprised to see meridian spoken in the subject, i happy to understand it that way, thank you baangus Love and light Spiral

I dont know why Sorry, I posted that before typing anything! Your question above is the sort of thing I was recommending you try and stay away from. There is a tendency in new age spirituality to over-intellectualize. You don't need to know the answers, and answers of an intellectual nature don't really accomplish all that much anyway given they chain you to your head and your thinking. I learned for myself that spiritual growth is about doing, not thinking. Engage the body. Be active and be fully awake in the world. That is that Qi Gong teaches. You stand in the world in full consciousness, and you do. You don't think or analyze, you simply do. And by doing, you become that which you want to know. And all your questions might just fall away and dissipate, or they might be answered, it doesn't matter either way. All that matters is that you are actively and consciously engaged in your spiritual development journey. Which it sounds as if you already are.

Hi Spiral, The way I have always grounded myself is by using my imagination. First have on some relaxing music, then close your eyes and see yourself as a large Oak. ask your guides and angels to place around you a protecting light. You are standing in a field with many trees around you, from the bottom of your feet visualise roots growing from your soles send thenm deep into the earth. Once you have done this spread you roots out so as to lock yourself (The Oak) to the ground. Then you can start to draw up the emergy from the the ground. Feel the healing energy flowing up through your roots into your trunk up through the crown you will now be grounded. you can then open your charkras and you are ready to do as you will knowing you are on a solid footing. Monk.
