For about a month I have upon going to bed lay on my back, and meditated on my breathing. It has been harder than I thought to do, I find that my mind wanders quite a lot. Now we come to last night, I went into the meditation as normal, but as my mind began to wander I heard a voice that was not mine. The voice I heard was a womans voice and it said, "be careful what you wish for" It was at that moment that all thought seam to stop, and I was wide awake. I have never had this before, and I was wondering if any one of you have? This has left me with a strange feeling that I had tapped into something for the first time. I am going to continue with my nightly meditation, and hope that at last I am truely getting somewhere. Love and Light to you all Monk.

I am having this sometimes. But whenever it happens i don't listen to it. i dont believe it to be helpful, but rather a distortion or distraction. Voices that are not yours are most of the time bad energies. Thats what i believe.
Eckhart Tolle said also: "If you hear or see things that are not there: Don't look at them"
But in your case it could also be a positive voice, in that case an angel or something.

Hi Monk,
This experience has really unsettled you, hasn't it? Aside from the very obvious benefits of meditation. Such as relaxation, clarity of thought, mental discipline. There is also the very real desire for those of us who work with energy; Be it as healers or to develop intuitive/psychic awareness. To be clearer channels. So we shouldn't be surprised when it starts to happen. But the reality is, that it still can be a bit of a shock when it does.
I think the important thing is to always use your auric/spiritual protection, every time you meditate. And also you have to learn to be discerning. I believe if we don't do this, we are basically offering 'open house', to any passing spirit entity or energy. Years ago, when I first started developing, I was given some very good advice about this. Don't assume, everything you hear or message you receive is for your highest good. I'm not saying that they are negative necessarily. Simply, that as in life, people can be misleading, distracting or even emotionally unstable. So too can spirit.
I was told, that whatever I hear, explore how I feel about it emotionally. If it makes me feel uneasy, worried or fearful. Then disregard it and firmly tell the 'voice' to go away. Information that comes from a higher plane or divine source, will uplift and inspire you. You will just feel good and know that you are in the presence of a wise and good soul. But, even if the message is an uplifting one or seems to have guidance and advice for you and you get clear imagery. It is always prudent to test it.
Ask them, in the name of our lord Jesus Christ or in the name of God, or use whatever spiritual words that resonate from your own personal belief system; to step into the light. I found just saying those words would bring down a ray of light in my mind. If the spirit or energy force that has manifested, does not step into that light, then do not trust what they say. Again, ask them to leave. Always keep your mind strong. You are the one in control. No spiritual being of the highest vibration will refuse to do as you ask. Any lesser being who cannot stand in divine light. Will also respond to the strength of your will, the power of the spiritual invocation and leave. I've found this advice over the years to be invaluable. Love and light Kaz

Dr.Bob and a man named Bill Wilson started Alcoholics Anonymous. Over the years of doing their personal clearing work and working the twelve steps they developed what they call conscious contact. Bill Wilson spoke of this in his book Pass It On. They were hearing the voices of their guides and their dead relatives near the end of their lives. This is part of becoming who we really are. Who we were created to be.
