Everyone in your life is there for a reason, even the ones you dislike, they often can be the greatest of spiritual teachers, as their words and actions often make you think more than those people who just agree with you, and get along with you. The question is, who has taught you a lesson you would never forget?

Well lets see: eliminating truly obnoxious people or destructive predators I remember Sgt. Crites. I was never in the military but R.O.T.C. in high school at least gave me a taste. Sgt. Crites had his work cut out for him because this was the mid-1960's "hippy dippy" era and military precision was NOT popular. He transformed the R.O.T.C. unit from marginal to one of enviable success by the most old fashioned of devices. He demanded exellance with no excuses. He made it very special to be in reserved officer training.
I don't think he liked me that much. Eventually I didn't like myself all that much either and I couldn't blame him. My exellence was at times pathetic. It was only later I realised that and how to deal with demanding people but at the time I was just growing up.
Exellence does NOT come naturally; especially to a kid.
