The word "Chios" (pronounced Cheeˊ ohss) is from the language of the ancient civilization of Bactria. The closest English translation to this word is "life force," although there is a fuller, richer meaning: Chios is the life-welling in all living things, as they strive upwards towards growth and towards the light and enlightenment. This meaning includes the growth of a plant upwards towards the sunlight, for example, or the struggle of a human being in the spiritual growth process, growing upward towards enlightenment.
All around you, and throughout the entire universe, circulates the life energy. It exists not only as an energy field around every living thing, but also circulates through the earth, through the atmosphere around us and throughout nature. The flow of this energy connects everything that exists, and you, as a living being, are taking in this energy at every moment. You are always drawing this life energy into your own energy field, and it is this energy that supports your life, as well as the life of all you seek to heal. In order to practice energy channeling—conducting a greater measure of this energy into your patient for the purposes of performing healing work—you must first learn to bring a greater measure of the energy into your own energy field.
The technique you will use to do this is referred to as Calling in the Energy. You call in the energy by using your power of Visualization. Visualization will be one of your most important tools as an energy healer because it allows you to direct the energy with your effortless intention alone. To call in the energy, using visualization, you will "see"—in your "mind's eye" or "psychic sight"—this energy begin to flow into you, from all around you, in greater and greater measure. You will also "see" this energy, as it flows into you, move through your body towards your shoulders, down your arms, and collect in your hands, so that you may then channel it into your patient. Calling in the energy, using this visualization, will start the energy flowing through you in this manner when it is time for you to begin a healing treatment. The following exercise will help you in becoming practiced and comfortable in calling in the energy:
Each day, for three times or more at various times during the day, summon the energy. Stand with your feet about shoulders-width apart, close your eyes and place your arms at your sides but with your hands not touching your body.
Now effortlessly "see," in your mind's eye, the energy coming into your body—up from the earth, down from above you, and from the atmosphere all around you, and thence into you. Really see and feel the energy coming into you, from all around. You may feel a slight tingling beginning, throughout your body, as the energy comes into you.
Then "see" the energy moving through your shoulders, down your arms and into your hands. As you hold your hands at your sides, really see and feel this energy coming into you from all around, through your body, down your arms, and then filling up your hands like water filling a glove. You should feel a tingling, or even a sensation of heat, as the energy flows to and collects in your hands.
This tingling you feel in your body and hands, when you call in the energy, is not just a physical sensation, but is similar to the sensation you experience when emotions flow through you. You can practice calling in the energy anywhere, at various times throughout the day. Each time you practice this should only take a minute or two.

Hi, Kaz.
I'm still working at a fast pace at my "Day Job", but am checking in from time to time.
Chios is one that I have no experience with. I read a "blurb" on it about 8 years ago and contacted the lady who taught it, but she was too far away for me to get together with.
Sounds interesting. There is an exercise that my Pranic Healing teacher taught me for abundance that's similar to what you describe. But it's not a Pranic exercise. It's from India. He's Indian, but I'm not sure of the origin of it.
The idea of energy being everywhere and being able to be utilized is central to Pranic.
As I recall, part of what Chios does is utilize specific points on the body. And the ones that they access are relatively few in number.

Hi Holistic,
Chios healing was a new one on me also. I found it very interesting reading up about it too.
It is good to see you, I've missed reading your posts.

Thanks, Kaz.
Finding a balance between the day job (I'm self- employed in manufacturing) and the Spiritual side of things has always been a struggle for me. My industry is seasonal. So, when business is good, it's my focus. Right now, I'm dealing with a Summertime cold, which is pretty distracting. I slept 12 hours Sunday.
At the same time, there is the calling I have for healing and spirituality. And in that regard, I have been working with a client who's been diagnosed with cancer for the first time in just under 4 years, when she dealt with it successfully. It's an interesting thing for me as well as for her, because I got a message NOT to do energy work with her, but instead to work on her regaining her own power via positive attitude and raw foods to overcome this inconvenience in front of her.
So, there is a bit of a balance, although not enough spare time to get centered properly to post consistently.
Should be through this pretty soon.

Hi Holistic, I'm sorry to hear you've been feeling under the weather. Those summer colds can be nasty. So make sure you give yourself some healing and tender loving care. It is intriguing what you have said about your client, and not giving her energy healing. I remember when I was doing my Reiki attunements some years ago, my teacher talked to us at some length about the contra indications for healing energy. She spoke about cancer and said that treating someone with cancer has to be done very carefully. As the nature of cancer is such, that what we do to promote healthy blood flow to the body as part of the healing process can feed the very thing what we want to starve of the life force that makes it grow. If that makes sense! The same with broken bones. There is a natural process with bone regrowth, that if hurried can cause the bone to not grow back straight or properly. Its interesting that you mention using empowerment and positive mindset, as it is a subject I have been thinking and writing about just lately. Both here and in the other article work I do. It has been proven that a lot of people are sensitive to if not allergic to certain foods. Also many of us suffer from vitamin and mineral depletion which we are unaware of. This in itself can cause cravings for unsuitable foods. On the other hand, there are many foods, nuts and pulses that have very powerful anti-toxident properties. Also eating more raw vegetables means we get the fully nutrient value from our food as well as it making the whole digestion and elimination process healthier. I would love to hear how she gets on. Love and light Kaz

Thanks, Kaz.
I have a bit of time tonight, so I thought I'd take some time here to post. Yes, Summertime colds are a nuisance. Luckily, they don't seem to set in as deeply or last as long as during bleaker Winter months. I'm sniffling more than I want, but my energy is on the upswing now. I feel about 80% or so at the moment.
In Pranic Healing, there are specific protocols for cancer. In Advanced Pranic, we're taught about using colored energy to fine- tune and amplify effects for specific applications. One thing with regard to cancer is that using violet energy is safe, as long as it's accentuated by White. Blending the two results in "Electric Violet". And Electric Violet's properties are very transmutational. So it's a safe one to use most any time- including for cancer. In fact, it's recommended for cancer.
Nevertheless, I prefer to ask to be shown what I need to see or be aware of. I try not to go in with an "agenda", so that I remain open to what comes. And in the case of this lady, as I said, I got that NO energy work was to be done. So I honored that information.
Our first communication was by phone. And I asked her when this had surfaced before.
"About 3 and a half years ago.", she replied.
"And what was going on in your life 3 and a half years ago?". I asked (Being sure to use her words.).
Oh, nothing. Everything was fine. I had a great job, great relationship, money saved up. Everything was great."
"Okay.", I replied and wondered what to say next. Then it came in to ask about a year earlier, since things do take time to manifest. "And what about a year before that?".
"Oh, nothing really.", she replied. Then she inhaled suddenly and said, "Oh, wow! I do remember getting into a big fight with my brother and me saying in anger, 'If I ever get cancer, this will be why!".
Hmmm. "Okay, so that's where we'll begin when we meet Saturday.", I said.
So, when I showed up Saturday, I spent about an hour just getting to know her, mainly, planting seeds of thought that would make sense to her later. I told her that I often "back into" points that I make, using stories as a pathway and that she'd get the point as we progressed. Then I told her a few Zen stories about leaving the past in the past and not carrying guilt around. And I told her how doctors are heavily invested in "being right"... even if they're not. And how they're often wrong, but their words carry weight for people who give their power up to them. I told her many stories and got her laughing over and over at the funny things I said and the "A ha!" realizations that she came to herself or agreed with as I spoke.
One "seed" I planted is that cancer in particular is largely affected by our attitude. Most people actually have some form of it during their lives, but their immune system deals with it and it never surfaces. But our attitudes can undermine our immune system. In fact, they can create opportunities for illness to enter. I cited the work of Dr. Carl Simonton, oncologist, whose work I was made aware of back in the 1970's, when one of my Psychology teachers brought him up in class. Dr. Simonton at the time had a clinic in Dallas, Texas and only worked with terminally- ill cancer patients. Yet he had a 70% success rate of remission or life extension well beyond what his patient's doctors had "predicted". His main "non- medical" approach was to look at what was going on in his patient's lives and have them do some visualizations aimed at boosting their optimism. I gave her some anecdotal evidence and some stories I was aware of related to Dr. Simonton's interactions with his patients. (One famous one is that he asked all of them when they "made the decision to die", which always got their attention.
Then finally, I asked her to sit back and close her eyes as I narrated some things for her to follow.
First, I explained that we all have a sense of direction with regard to time. For some people, the past is behind us and the future in front. For others, the past is to the left and the future to the right. And for others, the past is below them, while the future is above. And for others it may be some kind of diagonal or even reverse positioning. Then I asked her where, for her, the past is.
She paused a few seconds. It was new to her.
"That's okay. Just trust what comes up for you. What's the first thing that comes up?"
(She pointed to her left.)
"Good. And what direction is the future, then?"
"That way.", she said as she pointed to the right.
"Okay. So, now we know where the past is and where the future is. And there's a line that connects them, known as your "time line".", I said. So, now, look back from where you are to the past, to that incident with your brother. Go there and tell me when you're there.", I instructed.
"Okay.", she said after a few seconds. "I'm there."
"And how do you feel as a result of being there again?"
"Mad. Hurt. Betrayed." The adjectives continued.
"Okay, so now that you're there, it's not necessary to feel those feelings in order to look at it constructively. And the way to do that is to gain some distance. In this case, distance is altitude. So, rise up above your time line 100 ft. and look down at that incident."
"Okay."
"And on a scale of 1 to 10, how strongly do those previous feelings register with you now?"
"About an 8."
"Okay, go to 200 feet above your time line. And as you do, you'll continue to notice that it's getting smaller and smaller, though you can still see it. Let me know when you're there."
"Okay. I'm there."
'So, on the 1 to 10 scale, how strongly do you feel those feelings now?"
"I guess a 6."
"Okay, so go to 300 ft. And as you do you'll notice that the event becomes even smaller and loses color some- like it's going to go to black and white."
"Okay."
"And now, on the 1 to 10 scale?"
"Maybe a 3."
"Okay. Good. So, let's work with that for a while."
I had her look at what was going on for her brother at that point in time. And what was going on for her. I directed her to keep in mind that there are always lessons that we can learn along the way. (A seed planted earlier a few times.) And I had her look at the fact that in that instance, her expression of anger didn't serve her best interests. Constructive anger is good. It clears the air. This was something else.
She agreed and we worked on that for a while. I asked her to search for an earlier time in her memory in which she felt the same way or a way that was very similar. And she found one. She had been betrayed by a man she loved and was engaged to. We worked through that one. Then I had her look further back. Issues with her Mom. We looked at that from her Mom's perspective as a too- young single Mom. Her Mom was deceased. I had her call her Mom to be there with her. They shared dialogue, understanding and forgiveness. Finally, there was no more to be found. So that string of negative emotion that had surfaced a few times for her was unraveled. (In TimeLine Therapy, the idea is to find the earliest occurrence of a negative feeling and defuse it. So what we did isn't "classical". But I felt that in that moment, what we did was the way to go. Maybe it was because in this case, dealing with that "theme" 3 times reinforced the work done. I dunno. I just went with what came in for me at the time.)
Then I changed course. "Okay. Let's try something new. Do you know where that illness that they say you have is located?"
"Umm. Hmm."
"And where is that exactly?"
(She moved her finger tips around to her abdomen and located it.) "Here.", she replied.
"Okay. Good. And how big is it?"
"About this big.", she motioned.
"And what color is it?"
"Dark blue.", she replied.
"And does it have a different temperature?"
"Ummm. It's kind of cold."
"Okay, so, if this thing that's about that big around, Dark Blue and kind of cold could talk, what would it say right now?"
"Let me out."
"Say that again."
"Let me out!"
"And again."
"Let me out!".
"Who said that?", I asked.
"It did.", she replied.
"Okay, good. So, what is it telling you?"
"It's saying that it wants to leave.", she replied.
"Good!" I encouraged. "So let's help it."
From there, we looked at what message it had to convey to her. We got clarity on the message and she thanked it for being her messenger, then asked if there was any more messages for it to convey.
"No. Nothing else.", she replied.
So, I called in my guides and Angels and had her call in her guides and Angels, explaining that she had to call them in for herself and ask them to help.
"Okay, thank the messenger with gratitude and ask it to leave."
(She did.)
"And now, ask your healing angels to remove any residue from this messenger. And tell me when this is complete."
(A minute or so went by.) "Okay. It's done.", she replied.
"So, now you have a void where the messenger was. And a void is a vacuum, which we don't want to leave there. So, ask your healing angels to fill the void with white light and seal it up. And tell me when it's done."
(Again, a minute or so went by.) "Okay. It's done.", she replied.
"Okay. Is there anything else for now?", I asked.
"No, I feel complete.", she replied.
I thanked my guides and Angels for their help and suggested that she did the same, which she did.
I summarized by reminding her that she had a medical test before the work that we'd just done. And I reminded her that since issues take time to manifest in the physical as symptoms and illness, they typically take time to de- manifest as well. I had suggested that she take some time if possible before seeing the doctor again. She was already set up for the next appointment only days away. I suggested that if the news wasn't as she hoped, to get a second medical opinion.
She was very happy with the session and told me that she felt a lot "lighter" and that the emotional charge she felt before regarding the experiences we looked at were gone. She saw the "theme" of them and realized that it didn't serve her and chalked it up to a learning experience that she now benefited from.
And that, in essence, was how the session went. (I've left out the personal issues that were discussed in order to respect the client's privacy.)

Our second session was this past Saturday. She had been to the doctor before we met for a biopsy. Within 3 days of the first time we met, it came back positive. I had explained to her that since issues take time to manifest in the physical as symptoms and illness, they typically take time to de- manifest as well. I had suggested that she take some time and if she couldn't and the news wasn't as she hoped, to get a second medical opinion. Instead, at the doctor's suggestion, she went in for surgery. They got the tests switched around and took out healthy tissue, leaving the not- so- healthy. So they went back in for a second surgery. She had called me from the hospital. After she got home, I went to see her. On the way, I asked for guidance and information. "Raw foods.", came the answer. "And Amethyst.". "No orange stones." "No red stones." "And make sure she cleans the stones regularly." When I got there, I told her a few stories as before- different ones. Then I told her about the raw foods and what my experience with it was. (A story in itself.) "Funny you should mention that!", she replied. "There's this center in Florida I'm drawn to for some reason and that's their "thing". So I explained about how the Universe works synchronistically, if we'll only take the time to observe it. And that "coincidence" is a misunderstanding some people have of synchronicity at work. And how this was an example of a confirmation for her to look into this. I told her about the Amethyst and other stones ideas as well, which she said for some reason, resonated for her. She has an Amethyst ring. She doesn't like orange stones. She does have some jewelry with red stones. I told her how to clean the stones and jewelry energetically and stressed the importance of cleaning them each time, prior to wearing them. (There is an energetic basis for this, but also, her actions will help keep her in a "proactive" state of mind.) We did no visualizations. We just visited that day. But seeds were planted. I pointed out once again that she has the power to change this, just as she had the power to manifest it. I pointed out that she enjoys life and that she's "not done" yet. I reminded her that, obviously, doctors do make mistakes, as she knows from personal experience. So there was a certain, although unfortunate, synchronicity- confirmation there as well for her not to see doctors as infallible. She asked how to get rid of the fear that she has, that often runs how she acts in life. I pointed out that fear is good- for the physical. As a child, burn your hand once and fear keeps you from burning it again. (She laughed and agreed heartily.) Stand at the edge of a 300 ft. drop- off and you know not to go too far. Fear does that for you, which is good. But the physical is just a very small part of who we really are. And I went into some detail about that- many lifetimes- people waiting on the other side to see us again- average time between lifetimes is 200 years- and on and on. I told her of a few ghosts I have seen and / or encountered while helping Lynn do house clearings. And how the main thing is for us to wake up and realize that we really are spiritual more than physical. Once you realize that this physical existence is just a small part of who we really are, fear subsides. It was a long talk, and she was pretty excited as before when time came for me to leave. Her friend whom she had a dinner date with later that day... brought her some Amethyst earrings as a present. She had no idea of my recommendation. So once again, there was a synchronicity there. Maybe, in the big picture, it was just to reinforce for her the idea that synchronicity is how things work. Then again, the Amethyst idea is a very valid one. So maybe there were a couple of layers to this one. The message I got for the raw foods thing was loud and clear. I have no doubt that it will work for her. Raw foods is basically an all- vegetarian diet with nothing cooked. There's a pretty thorough detox that takes place during the first week or so- like you have a very bad flu, and then it clears out of your system as the toxins do. (My first experience with the idea was when I met a very vibrant man during a sweat lodge, who was so full of energy that he could barely contain it. He walked over and asked me to guess how old he was. "I dunno, ummm... 52?", I guessed honestly. He was 74 and took great pride in telling me so. His hair was black and he stood straight, wore no glasses and looked me squarely in the eyes. I was very surprised. He told me of how he used to have rheumatoid arthritis, no energy and gray hair, until he found out about raw foods. And it worked so well, that he was sort of a raw foods missionary.) That night after seeing the client for the second time, when I got home, one of the messages in my in box was of a video on RealFarmacy.com of a doctor (Dr. Leonard Coldwell) from Europe who was saying that "any" cancer can be cured in 2 to 16 weeks with raw foods and upping the oxygen content of the person's blood. Once again, synchronicity at work. So I sent her the address. She liked that synchronicity and excitedly told me that she was pursuing the raw foods idea.

Hi Holistic, I have been fascinated by the account of your meeting with your client; particularly interesting was the dialogue in where you talk to her about the incident with her brother. You ask her about the past and where it was in relation to her. I thought left too for the past. What is the significance of this? Is there a name for this type of healing/counseling technique? I have also heard great things of the raw food diet. A friend of mine years ago, had chronic rheumatoid arthritis and was in a wheelchair. She became a raw food vegetarian, and it improved her health enormously. I know a lot of cancer sufferers are also encouraged to eat more raw foods, cut out all sugars and processed food from their diet. I do enjoy reading your stories from your case files. Thank you for sharing Love and light Kaz

Hi, Kaz.
It's called "Time Line Therapy". I've written about it here before.
I think that part of it has to do with getting the client to visualize in the first place. So it could be considered a type of "fast induction". From my experience, most people are back / front or left / right oriented with regard to their time line. But getting the person to come up with their own, on their own, is important, because doing so is cooperative participation from the beginning.
Once the client is, "there", there are several things that can be done to disarm the energy of the event. For instance, just rising up above the event creates emotional distance for them. So does having them make it darker, or black and white, or running the event backwards, or having an antagonistic person who was originally there have a cartoon face on, or speak with a Daffy Duck voice, and on and on. My "thing", is to get the client to look at the situation from a "big picture" standpoint for lessons it presented, so that the value of it isn't lost. And that often entails seeing the other person as human with all the "stuff" that goes along with that.
About 10 years ago, I met a psychotherapist who had a very successful practice in Chicago, who did Time Line Therapy exclusively. She told me that she was booked 6 months in advance.
The incident with my client's brother was actually not as significant as the ones before it. (One in particular was the "key" to her current illness. And Time Line Therapy, from what I got in that moment, would not have been sufficient to disarm it. So we changed for a few minutes to calling the deceased person's spirit in for communication to clarify and resolve what my client was "stuck" on. (This was not the one with her Mother, but a different one that had a lot of emotional regret for her.) And she was surprised to find no need for forgiveness, but instead only unconditional love waiting there for her.) But using it as an "entry point" worked very well.
When I studied Core 4 Healing with Lynn, who was at the time my teacher and is now my girlfriend of 11 years, a central principle of what she taught was that once the underlying issues are resolved, the "lock" around the illness is opened and energy work can then efficiently provide the inertia to resolve the presenting illness. Not dealing with the issues is only dealing with the symptom(s), while dealing with the issues deals with the cause(s) of the illness. And I've found this to be true.
In Core 4, there are 4 recognized "layers of existence": Spiritual, Mental, Emotional and Physical, in that order, from highest to lowest dimension or vibration. And issues are typically sourced at one of the 3 levels above the Physical, with the Physical being the one they finally manifest in. An issue origination in one, affects the layers below it. The issues this client was working through were all on the Emotional layer.
NOTE: Some people will notice that Core 4 is similar to Theta Healing in that it recognizes layers of existence. However Theta recognizes more layers (for instance the "Ancestral" or "Genetic" layer) and Theta doesn't focus so much upon talk and dialogue as a way to address them.
When I was in school for massage, one of my classmates did raw food for a while. She had a seriously rough time of it when she started detoxing, as many people do. She quit before she got through it, though. Luckily for her, her reason for beginning wasn't to overcome a debilitating illness.
It's pretty amazing just how toxic we are these days and accept it as the "norm".
While in college, I was vegetarian for 2 years. Then one night in a really nice eclectic restaurant I smelled a steak cooking and that was the end of my vegetarianism. I had a New York Strip steak and enjoyed every bite of it. I half- expected to have some digestion problems from it but nothing of the sort occurred. One day, when and if necessary, I may do the raw foods thing. I actually like all vegetables, raw or cooked, and don't think I'd have an issue with that, based upon past experience... for about 2 years, anyway!
Thanks.
