So, Kaz, you suggested earlier in response to my suggestion for a specific sub- folder for Crystal and Stone healing, that maybe we could put it all under the "Crystal of the Day" thread. As I see it, there are too many different stones to put so much information into one long thread, because it would be difficult to search and would, as a result, be difficult to manage and navigate, etc.
But this particular thread that I'm starting now, I think, even though it will likely be a long one, will be good to have in a single thread, because it will be about the general use of crystals and stones- not about any stone in particular.
So, my plan here is to post some things under different categories within the thread. And, it will likely be changed after- the- fact as new, related thoughts come up for me. This will be in order to keep some continuity and organization and make it easier to navigate.
Also, I want to say that the following information is from my own personal experience. I have studied the subject with 5 different teachers with varying backgrounds (Native American, New Age, Spiritualist, mainly) and there are many people with more knowledge and experience on the subject than me. This is simply, what I have to offer anyone with an interest in the subject.
With that in mind, here is a basic outline of what's to come as I see it now:
1.) Crystals and Stones: Background / Intro on their use. Things to keep in mind.
2.) Application of Crystals and Stones: 2a.) Energy direction, chakra interaction and influence and more- Some interesting phenomenon that can be demonstrated. 2b.) Application of C&S to a person's energy field. 2c.) Removal of C&S after a session.
3.) C&S as jewelry and "personal stones".
And more as I think of it.
Later.

Coincidentally, last night on Coast to Coast AM, a radio program here in the U.S. that deals with controvercial subjects such as UFO's, conspiracies, alternative history and metaphysics, Crystals was a topic presented by Tom Benedict. I think that the summary given is a good overview. So, here it is:
First hour guest, healer and intuitive Tom Benedict talked about the healing properties of stones and crystals. Different types of stones have particular frequencies which can match up with various systems in the human body, and help them to function better, he explained. For instance, Black Tourmaline is a great stone to help people stay grounded, focused, and articulate, while Selenite and Apophylite can be used to bring in white light and energy, he said. People can work with the stones by carrying them in their pocket, as jewelry, being held during meditation, or even placed on the body, he detailed.

Hi Holistic, Sounds like a great programme, I would have loved to have heard it. I have always carried around stones in my pocket, and discreetly put in other places. I found carrying clear quartz crystal very affective. Particularly, when feeling tired and finding it difficult to think clearly. This crystal amplifies the energy field up to 300 percent. I can definitely vouch for this crystal working. Thank you for sharing Holistic, I will check out Tom Benedict, he sounds like my kind of healer. Love and light Kaz

Hi, Kaz.
Agreed regarding Tom Benedict. I like the way he described the interaction we have / can have with stones. His description has prompted me with a few things to write about here. Right now, I'm putting in a lot of time at work, so my time writing is reduced for a bit. But my mind is "writing" in the background and when I get the time, it should flow smoothly. I'll do something here before this coming weekend is over.
BTW, I carry Tourquoise, similar to the way you do Quartz. Mine is pretty unique, because it's natural (i.e., not cut and polished, etc.) and it has a silver metal embedded in it. I suspect it's actually silver, but from what I've read, it could be aluminum. At any rate, it's my "personal" stone for the last dozen or so years, being given to me by an ex- girlfriend. There's some lore about Tourquoise that it's better to receive it, rather than go get it yourself. And that feels "right" to me.
My previous personal carry- stones were Moldavite.
More later...

Hi Holistic , Your stone sounds beautiful, really special. The Native Americans and the Ancient Egyptians revered Tourquoise for its powerful psychic protection properties. It is also an enhancer of psychic/intuitive awareness isn't it. To be honest, I think any crystal we are 'given' is very special and meaningful. It is as if the universe intends for us to have it, and when it is given in love and friendship, makes it even more powerful for us. I really do believe, crystals seek us out. Over time I have given away many crystals, feeling that others, needed them more then I did. Curiously, I have also noticed, that some crystals I have used a lot for years, suddenly go missing. I often wonder who they went seeking, and hope the receiver gets as much from using them as I did. I love Moldavite, I have a very small piece, which I keep seperately from my other stones in a little pouch. What a brave man you were carrying it around with you all the time. For I am sure you know it is an incredibly powerful crystal. It is a transformer, and has the ability to activate, open up all the chakras. I have heard some stories from different people who have used this stone for meditation and channeling, and was told that they often felt 'out of this world' when using it. Extremely heady. It works well in pendents when it is set, with another stone which is grounding in nature. I think it is because it balances it out, earths the wearer. I look forward to reading more of your posts, hope you manage to get some relaxation time. Love and light Kaz

Hi, Kaz. Here's a picture of the Tourquoise I carry. It's about an inch and a quarter long and maybe a half inch wide. Definitely feels like "mine". I carried the Moldavite for about 3 years, beginning right at September 11, 2001. I first heard about it when reading Eric Pearl's book on "The Reconnection", a type of energy healing. From the description of it, I was very drawn to it. And, true to form, when I started carrying it, my life began to change drastically and suddenly. I did shed a lot of excess baggage- literally and figuratively. I walked out of a bad business partnership and left virtually everything I owned behind as a result. Then I moved and gave away a lot of the "stuff" I'd collected over several years. I went on a 9- month spiritual journey of discovery and exploration and didn't even think about business for the first 3 months or so. It's definitely not the stone for everyone. And there is a certain "brace for impact" necessary for those who choose to do so. It's definitely one of my favorites. Up until about 4 years ago, I had one that was round and relatively flat, just over 2 inches in diameter and about 3/8 of an inch thick. I called it the "Oreo Cookie", because it was very close to the size of one. I gave it to a Cherokee Elder I met as a gift of appreciation from me to him.
