Marcel Vogel was a research scientist for IBM who, after initially researching the properties of Quartz crystals for electronic circuitry, became fascinated by what he found and devoted much of his life into the research of Quartz. His research extended into metaphysical properties of Quartz and that became his primary area of focus.
He was once asked about researching other stones as well and Vogel replied that there was enough area to cover in Quartz alone, for him to spend a lifetime doing so.
Here is a relatively short video on YouTube with him describing the use of one of his crystals. (There are several much longer ones there if what you see piques your interest in what he has to say.) You will find one very similar to the one he's using depicted below in the picture of Vogel cut crystals.
From Wikipedia:
Vogel Cut
He also designed the Vogel Crystal Cut, which allegedly focuses "universal life force" by concentrating it and transforming it to a higher level or vibration. Vogel crystals are said to be cut to the extremely precise angle of 51 degrees 51 minutes and 51 seconds, which is also claimed as the precise angle of the sides of the Great Pyramid of Giza. The crystal is further designed along the geometry of the Tree of Life symbol. Its design is said to have come to him in a dream.
Billy Meier UFO metal sample
Vogel examined a metal sample which was allegedly given to Billy Meier by extraterrestrials and marveled at its unusual properties (Vogel stated it contained the element thulium).[citation needed] An investigator with the Independent Investigations Group found that the element detected by Vogel was in fact aluminum and not thulium.[3][4]
Communication between plants
Vogel was a proponent of research into plant consciousness. He spurred fellow researcher Randall Fontes into furthering this work. Vogel was featured in the first episode of In Search Of... hosted by Leonard Nimoy, called "Other Voices". He gave his theories regarding the possibility of communication between plants.[5]
There are 2 or 3 people in the world who Marcel Vogel used to facet the designs he came up with. One is in Germany, one in Brazil and I'm not sure about the other. But the only one who maintains the standards set forth by Vogel and cuts for the inheritor of Vogel's legacy is is in Germany and cuts exclusively for Rumi Da, Vogel's protoge'. The one in Brazil does all of the cutting for Pranic Healing crystals, which are similar to Vogels in many ways.
There are inexpensive Chinese knock- offs of Vogel crystals, but part of the technology going in to a true Vogel has to do with programming the crystal as it's being cut. Only the 3 faceters mentioned above have that specific ability.
Here are some examples of Vogel style crystals. The Smokies on the left are not real Vogels. They are inexpensive imitations from China. The other 3 are true Vogels. The difference in quality is pretty obvious, especially when considering the precise facet angle standard of a true, Vogel cut crystal. And the feel of the energy and capability of the real ones vs. the knock- off's is very noticeable.
The more facets a Vogel crystal has, the finer the density of energy, and the more the capacity for larger amounts of energy that it can work with. However, it can also work with denser energies below the intensity of the highest vibration of energies. In other words, the more facets a Vogel cut stone has, the wider the range of energies it can work with. This isn't to say that a stone of fewer facets can't be used for higher energies. But it is to say that it will not be as efficient as one with more facets in working with higher vibrations, so work will take longer at those levels than with a crystal with more facets.
Vogel cut crystals are not only used for healing. Some have been cut for other purposes. For instance, there is one design used for meditation on sacred geometry. (See the rounded Citrine one in the above picture with "Star of David" facets cut into it.) And some have been cut for the purpose of meditation on contact with Extraterrestrials. (See the one at the far right of the picture.)
