This entry about "Time Line Therapy", because it's not a spiritual or energetic approach to healing, may seem out of place here. However, Time Line Therapy does fit very well into any therapy in which talk, dialogue, visualization, hypnosis, past life therapy and others are used.
Time Line Therapy was originated by Tad James, Master NLP Practitioner and NLP trainer. It's a very quick and efficient means to get the client to disconnect from the issue(s) that are bothering them and take a more balanced, less emotionally- involved look at them and how he or she allows them to affect their behavior.
In essence, the therapist has the client determine which direction "feels right" with regard to which direction represents the Past and the Future, in their own way of perceiving the passage of time, then has the client rise above their timeline visually, so that they are seeing the event(s) that transpired as if from a distance. (For instance, for most people, the Future is in front, while the Past is behind them. But for others, it may be Left and Right, or vice- versa.) Once this setting is determined, and the client is looking at the situation from the vantage point of "a safe distance", they can look at the situation in a less involved / more neutral way.
In my view of this, it's almost akin to looking at things from the vantage point of the High Self- not quite that in reality, but similar.
More "distance" can be gained, if necessary, by rising higher, so that the events being viewed are smaller and smaller.
The client can move up and down their time line to get a better view of the implications of the events in question and gain a new perspective with regard to implications and lessons learned from the experiences.
I highly recommend at least some investigation into this, to anyone who works with people in a setting that can lead to counseling, and to anyone who works with people who may release emotionally.
