The following interpretations of Biblical parables came from "Daskalos", in his book, "The Parables and Other Stories".
"Daskalos" (Greek, for "teacher", his actual name being "Stylianos Atteshlis") was a Greek Cypriot healer, well- known for doing miraculous healings (one time, healing a child whose leg was withered from polio in front of a group of reporters who showed up to interview him), who was also a spiritual teacher. He worked visibly and "invisibly" as he referred to it, in that he was said to be able to leave his body at will and be anywhere he desired to be- even to the point of materializing there.
Daskalos' basic statement of existence is in line with what we today refer to as, "Gnosticism", mainly, that we are here, souls bound into the physical, working our way back to God through reincarnation. He remembered all of his lifetimes.
Matthew 13: 10
"And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. 12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. 13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:"
The Parable:
Matthew 13:47
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: 48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. 49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, 50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 51 Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord
The Interpretation:
What is this “blazing furnace, the place of wailing and grinding of teeth”? It is incarnation on the material plane. All the “fish”, souls, are caught up in the same net. But it is not the net that counts, it is your quality as a fish, how you have developed. The net is the act of passing over- the so- called “death”. At the end of material incarnation, after passing over, the Archangels and Angels will see what they have collected from the “net”. They choose the “good” ones- the enlightened ones- to be absorbed into a higher form of life. Isn’t that what happens when you eat a fish? And the others are thrown back into material incarnation to develop further.
There are two sorts of fire, which Jesus speaks of- internal and external- both of which are derived from the Everlasting Fire, which is God. The internal fire is your real nature, the Spirit- Soul. The external fire is that part of the Everlasting Fire which has been formed into the worlds of matter. In this parable, “blazing furnace” is the external fire, by which Jesus means the world of gaining experience, living on the planet, the place where “fire” is destroying what ought to be destroyed. The “good” people, those who have used their incarnations to learn their lessons, who have been purified by this internal fire, will go to their life of joy
