Hello,
I had a dream that I saw a man come in what I though was a bank and start shooting, though I think the shot I saw hit the ceiling. I saw a girl who I think was a teller, escape and run down an escalator. She was wearing a long orange dress with black trimming.
In another part of the dream I was looking for a health food store. The area where I was reminded me of the town I was in in college because it had a lot of hills. There seemed to be a lot of biking in the dream. I was given directions and the health food store seemed to be only a refrigerator. There were different health foods in the refrigerator but also organic ice cream. The person who worked there seemed jolly and a bit unkempt and said that I should try the ice cream cone because its a good bargain. That was the end of the dream.

Some of these posted dreams resonate with me because I have experienced some part of life that produced dreams simular.
I don't see anything menacing in the dream that would be interpreted as an omen. Even the bank robbery seems more like an entertaiment scenario or akin to just reading the news. I have actually felt the concussions of firearms at the shooting range and they arn't pleasant but at a distance it all seems to blur into a realization of life today. The esculator to me further symbolizes the incongruent world we have of technology everywhere that butts up against raw primative reality.
The health food store scenario is also very telling me as I used to live in a much different place and frequented one. It was part of my youth - not much removed from the college and "young people" stage - and was far removed from the more mundane grocery shopping at a super market. A nice clean spotless super market! Everything professional but also impersonal.
Most telling to me is nobody in the dream was pursuing you to do mayhem. But things were not exactly ideal either. I'm guessing life is not too frightening to you right now but the dream suggests to me some wariness is always prudent. Still a bargain is always a good bargain and ice cream is no exception!

Dreams & Reality :
The topic is so vast that we seems to live our life either in the real world or the Imaginary/self-created thoughts. When we talk about some achievements/fulfillment. Then, there was first a thought, than a action, and finally the outcome in the form of materiaistic/spiritualistic growths in life.
Dreams are just a chain of images, ideas, emotions and sensations that occur in the mind during certain stages of sleep. Scientifically, humans, animals, birds; we all dream. And as per the research, its been encountered that people remembering the dreams when they are not actually get into the actual sleep (deep sleeping) patterns of the human body (which is case to most of the population right now). Rather, they just fall under the stage of Rapid Eye Movement sleep. And it has been seen, at that time the activity of the brain is as similar as it is during our waking hours.
Having a Dream is good, but living into the dreams is completely optional. So, first of all its important to understand the creation of dreams in our body/mind.
That's the definition of dreams & there effects in the consciousness.
The simplest way is the training of your own self to get rid of things seen in the sleep as faster as possible.
Different psychiatrists have there own understanding about the dreams according to there studies and experience.
But, rather getting into the depth of "Why I a seeing this"?. The best method suggested in spirituality is to start avoiding these feelings by your self. There is no need to dig the hole to search for all this.
Just Meditate more and more.
God Bless you always.

Hello Gruntal and Samy, Thank you for your responses. Gruntal, I like that you approached the dream almost like a book where you found parts that related to your life. You have a different way of seeing things and I find your perspective unique and refreshing.
Samy, I found it helpful that you mentioned the difference between REM and deep sleep and how the dreams could come from different places depending on the kind of sleep you're getting. I've heard it said that its possible to interpret our waking lives like dreams. That perspective makes me think that like our lives, there can often be a flow to our dreams. Though we should always be aware, at times it doesn't help to over analyze but rather observe.
Thank you both
