The world of my head is something that I'll likely understand (someday) but only in an abstract or changeable form that I'm never confident is accurate.
My question is mostly based upon my rational approaches to the world, or attitudes, or expectations. I'm unsure of the exact word for what I mean but I'll try explain an example.
What I'm curious about is the difference between a thing that is self fulfilling and something that is not.
For instance I could sit on the bench outside on a hot day and think, this is really cold, this wouldn't change anything or shouldn't change the way I experience the world.
Alternately I could sit on a bench outside on a hot day and ask myself am I a useless human being? And therein the attitude and emotional torment I put myself in, would stretch my imagination to the thing itself and with my better understanding of that thing, wouldn't I then become more likely to make links an associations from it into my life.
To some degree foundation to psychosis if I repeat the same question from the reoccurring emotional state I put myself in?
Is this really the case though? and if so I guess the most important question is...
What should I ask myself?
Or what do you ask yourself which allows you to recognise appreciation of yourself and of others?

dear me, I've not phrased any of the above very well. I guess it is entirely relative to the way I react to the question rather then an absolute.

The whole world/universe is living in you only. To know something outside, the best way to feel good is start knowing about your own. WHO AM I?
This question varies from person to person. So, the more you inclined yourself getting affected/involved in the world , the harder it will be for you/anyone to find the peace in his/her life.
The more you (we all) see things in a lighter way, the better it will be for us in anyways. Either its related to health problems, emotional dis-balances, attitude issues, depression/stress etc..
Your emotions can make you as soft as like a butter, & as hard as like a rock. Garbage can only bring darkness.
It's like eating a non-veg and eating a veg. They both have there own characteristics & type of changes that happen in our body physically or mentally. And, its something that we all have experienced in our life in many ways.
Looking for a appreciation/fame/reward is a sign of the conversion of having the confidence level being changing it to over-confidence.
Example :
We all have heard the story the Rabbit & Tortoise race in our childhood. You can easily make out from that what it means to be over-confident.
Having expectations is life is good. But, getting yourself addicted to them is not recommended.
The best method to avoid disturbances/anger/emotional fluctuations is while being silent for sometime and try to see there origin from where it is coming in your mind and put us on xyz situations.
Try to limit yourself on the thoughts process as well.
God Bless you always!

Namaste, Jerboa
I've heard self fulfilling beliefs described like this: whether you say "I can't do it" or "I can do it", you're correct.
It's all about our idea of control. Many things are outside your control, and you have to learn to accept them. Our experiences, our situation, these things are all gifts, given to us by reality. The only control we have is over our choices. We have choices every second, and if you believe that you can make better choices, you will.
If something is out of your control, then no amount of effort will stop it from happening. If something is in your control, nothing can stop you from achieving it. It's all about self belief.
I hope this helped.
Peace.

My thanks for the two wonderful responses, I'll be trying to limit my ability to over think. It often leaves me baffled an thus not always so good for me. I'm at the doctors tomorrow about my tinnitus which has reduced recently, so hoping to return to full health and avoid any further ear troubles.
I'll hopefully remember to take things slower and appreciate the world a bit more rather then try understand every bit of it. I'm attempting to over come just that, the things that are out of my control I should leave well alone, accept and continue as I do. Sometimes I randomly decide wrongly that I should do something about this or that and well, its difficult to draw the line with something I've not done before.
Love an light to you both, thank you for helping me understand x

It's really nice Jerboa, if the suggestions/guidance have actually make some impact in you physically as well as in the spirit form. Well, that's the actual logic behind the spirituality in itself to serve the one at the most, in any way. Thoughts have the same effect to the body (internal & external), as it happens with the healing therapy. The only difference is like the results being shown while using the allopathic medicines vs the ayurvedic/natural medicines. But, health is wealth. And its our primary duty to ensure that the maintenance required by this physical body is as important as its being done with the cars. The more you are fit from the body, the better the world will be seen for you. Pain in any way is always a big concern in the obstruction of our daily life activities. So, as it will be the same in the road of finding the GOD. First of all, take care of your health. Avoid things that distract/stress your own self. Smile even if you are in pain. And, rest is a miracle. May God Bless you with better health asap:)

hi, i read somewhere " you are as much happy as u think u are " i could not understand it. then i read " happiness is not something readymade. it comes from ur own actions" i understood a little . then i read " the purpose of our life is to be happy " i was little confused again Self Fulfilling ideas or attitudes - very very nice post and any very important question of life.. there must be something in me which proves that i am a good person. may be i dont remember it now but that does not matter much. what matters is that i know i am good person and i do good things in life. i can know i am a good person when each day each minute i try to do something good. anything but which my heart says its good. because i believe that god stays in my heart and always instructs me whats good and bad at a particular situation. i tell my self each day almost that or ask myself "i am a good girl right ? " and the answer comes "yes" and i recall the latest good thing i did. happiness - is a state when we are physically as well as emotionally healthy. i do everything and there is a hidden happiness i found in doing that thing or getting that thing . who always know what is good and if i do good things i will be happy that i am doing good and the result will automatically be good which i may recognize later and not now thats not much important . also i thank god for all he has given and for all he does. there must be a reason behind every good and bad thing and i trust god so i dont need to know every reason now. but i thank him for everything that i am his daughter and he is doing his best for me always. that is another self fulfilling attitude to thank god for me. have a happy and healthy life charu
