The God in me bows to the God in you. I came to this forum on a road to spiritual awakening. I wasn't raised religiously, but have come to embrace Hinduism. I still have a lot to learn, and a lot of things to sort out still, but I believe that Hinduism, it's scriptures, beliefs, practices and outlook, are for me. It feels like finding a soul mate; almost like Hinduism was made for me, though it's one of the oldest and most popular religions around I was raised in a loving home and encouraged to think for myself, though my mother is a Hindu and my father is agnostic. I've always been interested in philosophy and life's big questions, and after a lot of reading, contemplating, and soul searching, I have found some kind of connection with a divine reality. I believe that I, and everyone, and everything is a part of this divine reality. Hinduism refers to it as Brahman. This divine reality, whilst complete and one, has many aspects, known as devas. Because the Divine One is also many, we finite beings can unite with the infinite. But because we are finite, we are separate from God. To connect with God, we must find the God in us, and see God in others. We need to love goodness, know truth, achieve inner peace, and renounce the temporary material world. These are the paths to liberation, or moksha. Until we learn how to do this, we can only circle around God, like a donkey tied to a pole, caught up in the cycle of samsara. God gives us as many lives as we need to find liberation. Until then, our actions and intentions will decide our future progression (karma). As I grow in and learn more about my new found faith, I will no doubt post about my experiences in this forum. I look forward to meeting everyone here, and hope I have many interesting conversations and encounters. Peace

Very nice thoughts Jash! They really have a very deep meaning inside them.
God has many names and known in many forms by us. But, Yes the truth is that He is the one that is behind all of this. Either in the form of devas, Manushya, animals, plants & his own other creations.
Exactly, the fact is that most of the times, searching for him will be like looking for a diamond in the coal mine. And definitely the process has in itself, a lot of things that came across and usually we (bhakt/devotee) get lost in some other path of his creation in the nature.
So, even finding him is also suggested by GOD himself, can by done only & only by having a BrahmGyani Guru in your life to guide you.
"Moksha", this term is so big and so vast that every body have its own meaning according to there experiences and knowledge. But, this can only be understand by the BrahmGyani Guru's suggestions and directions.
So, In Hinduism the mantra is to have a GURU in your life to protect yourself from the hands of the mis-conceptions of life & its aspects, and live under the shadow of GOD himself.
He cannot be seen/feel through this outer covering of yourself. Which we actually call as the Consciousness/physical body.
To know/experience him, it has its own parameters, which includes:
-- Dhyaan Yog
-- Traatack
-- Sadhna
-- Samadhi
But ultimately, the end of all this and others is to Know him.
So, which ever way we choose, it will the road map to enter his home of love and care.
God Bless everyone.

samy03, I do want to have a guru at some point. I'll have to find one, as well as a Hindu community where I live. But I want to make sure it's the right guru, so I have a lot of searching to do I understand the importance of having a guru. If some people experience God more than others, which must be the case, then those people can help people less spiritually developed. Forgive my ignorance, could you explain to me parameters you outlined? I don't know the meaning of those words. Thanks a lot! God bless.

Hello Jash,
Don't feel sorry/shyness of something which bothers you in your mind to know and inquire about. That's something the best thing given to the human body to think before act.
It's very very very.... important my fried, to have a Guru in your life, as you already commented on it too.
Just never forget that, Having a doubt about choosing someone whether its good or not, is something that actually a toughest threat a body can get to search for "Moksha"
So, first of all try to work on eliminating the thoughts of "IF'S" & "But's" within yourself.
The term knows as "TRUST" is the only ladder that will help you crossing the ocean of thoughts & decisions.
Though, do carry on with your research, and choose according to your own convenience. But, do remember that you should not have a single doubt left about the selection after that.
"Guru", is not someone like a menu card in the restaurant, to change the order and customize your feelings/likings accordingly again and again.
Btw, your curiosity about the parameters is in short can be explained as :
The process of finding GOD is different from person to person and society to society. That's why there are lot of professional things being open up, assuring that they can help you in meeting the GOD.
Be careful and conscious. Don't fall under this umbrella.
The best method is to practicing Meditation. And, thats something you can do by your own.
The parameters being mentioned were the higher stages in the techniques of meditation itself.
Focus on the hunger of searching for GOD. And you will get the way of knowing his presence, under the guidance of a GURU.
Here, I am sure there is no need to tell you, why I am mentioning GURU again and again. Your understanding level already shows that level of knowing the essence of it by yourself.
God Bless you always.
