Has God spoken to you? Do you know what your purpose on earth is? Do you have a feeling that you need to do something, but you do not exactly know what that is?
Is destiny calling you to do more than you have on earth? or are you doing exactly what you are supposed to do right now!

If I thought, even for a fraction of a second, I had some destiney in this life I would be most disapointed. Nothing accomplished. And to think how well I did on my tests. I had some premonition this would happen.
Or mayby that is how it was suposed to be. Little baby steps. Peck at the cocoon and try to get out. Break the mold. That skid row bum next to you; he is Julius Ceaser but in one of his less sucessfull reincarnations. Who would have thought?
The nightmares never stop. Must get home. Must find a way out. Stranded and broken down. Run for your life!
That might be a good time to just sit down with the others and have a picnic. Make a few friends. Don't be such a loner. It will take a hundred years to figure that one out and I won't be alive to enjoy it but maybe next time. Ahh well.
If I didn't know any better I'd swear there was no life's purpose because it's never obtainable. But now the thought has occurred to me .........?!
Just a thought. A life time it takes sometimes for just a thought.

About 23 years ago I was asked by a sponsor of mine to go and attend a sweat lodge ceremony. I thought that it was very strange, but he said that it would do me a world of good, so off we went. I got run out after the third round of the lodge, but when I stood up outside a feeling came over me and I sort of teared up. I new that I had found my hearts path, the thing that I was created to do. There were a lot of things that worked backwards where all of this was concerned for me. The funniest part was learning that you do not go after these ways, THE WAY comes after you if it is meant to be.
I started a journey to learn all that I could. The sweat lodge, vision quest, and other helpful things in working with other people. The vision quest is used to find one's vision and purpose for life.

Hello Leon,
This post makes me think of another post, "The Ego Neither Good or Bad". To me it seems like having a calling in life to pursue requires your ego to be humbled but then used to propel you forward, then kept in check as you go along. I think that sometimes we may think we're humbling ourselves when really were just using the ego in a less constructive way. I thought in my mind at some point that accepting whatever career path that others chose for you was subduing the ego, when really it causes unnecessary pain and it's also a denial of your self. Finding your life's purpose I think requires acceptance of yourself, and your desires and that's easier said than done. I think it can also come little by little. I think God can reveal our purpose over time and we find that it was different from what we had thought. But the first step is finding what brings us happiness and joy and if we pursue it all the way through we' ll end up where we need to be.
Thank you for the post Leon

Hi...here is my take on the question posed. To me destiny is a part of everybody's life cycle here on earth. Not a sense of grandiose destiny-- but we as Souls (not personalities) with guidance -- choose certain wide parameters and experiences and relationships to be involved in any particular lifetime. I do not believe that every action and experience in life is pre-destined. Not everybody's destiny is the same, it all depends on the evolution of our soul, our karmic predicament, and what we came to work on. Sometimes destiny unfolds by the living of life, the awakening our individual talents that we as individuals are here to fulfill. Sometimes the patterns of destiny can be shown in a deep understanding of astrological archetypes one brings in one's birth chart.
The more one aligns to their higher self, through prayer and meditation, being of service to others, with intent and compassion -- to me, the more one's life is giving birth and fulfilling the seeds of one's destiny.
The other questions that comes to mind -- can one not fulfill the chosen destiny in a life? I think to some degree yes.... and that is where continuing unfolding choices come into life also. Does destiny always have a positive connotation or can some destinies be filled with challenge and difficulties? I think yes, also.
peace, aceofcups

We all came to this earth with a pre-defined & described life that we will be having over here on earth. All the major events/incidents that we face/go through are already planned in our life on this earth. This thing doesn't mean that its being written like : Mr. Samy you are going to participate in a particular program on the television & win a xyz amount from it. It's not like that Or, in other way I will be the President of the country one day. It's that these all have been given to us in a way of settling down our own accounts being credited from the Karmas side. (either we see it in a high class living style / living as a poor) But yes, the ups and downs that we see in our lifes, coming in the forms of winning a lottery, getting married/or not, having your own home, mis-happenings in the life. These all big and worst scenarios and others like them, are actually processes according to our destiny/karmas. We can't even have that authority to do more than whats there in for us. Whatever we do, we are either getting what should get from the earth. And, at the same time, we also adding our next account by doing other things as well. So, its like MLM chain. We are by us only connected to the earth, & just following the course of being coming and going again and again over here. It's in our own hands to come out from it. Otherwise, we don't even count in figures, how many times we have already been here in the past. And, already settled a good heavy account for our future as well as till date.
