A dream about a clothing shop/ dream within a movi

Hello,

I would really appreciate any insight into a dream I had last night. Parts of it have certain themes that I wasn't sure if I should post here, but it I really would appreciate an interpretation. I was hoping that Kaz would be able to decipher some of it if not thats ok. I know that you have a gift for understanding dreams Kaz and I really would like your help.

I had a dream last night that I was working at a jeans store similar to the one I was working in. There was a "sassy" guy there that was my friend, but almost everyone else there didn't like me and would do things to I guess sabotage me (though it didn't make sense). They said something about painting the the inside of my jeans or my underwear back. I saw Halle Berry in the beginning of my dream and in the dream she was I guess a store manager/ my mentor. She was very supportive. Later on I dreamed there was a movie with a character like Cuba Gooding Jr and he had a mother who was blonde and was a stripper. He also had a little brother who was a kid. I dreamed that I was an observer in the movie. There was a scene where the mother was stripping and she was naked and slowly rubbing copious amounts of lotion all over her body while she was on the pole and she looked very sad. They lived in a house that reminded me of houses in my neighborhood and their carpeting was green. They kept a lot of ready made foods, I saw minute rice and mac and cheese. I think thy had a radio, that might have been broken that they were trying to fix. When the mother came home, she had on sweatpants and a jacket, she had fried chicken which she apparently liked. Then I was out of the observation mode inside the movie and back to my "real life" at the jeans shop. I had decided to report some of the coworkers that war planning to do those things to management. Before I went in the office, I asked the managers what happened in the movie and they said that the woman gained weight and I guess got sick and died. As far as what I reported about my co-workers, the management was they were supportive and helped me. And that was the last part I remember.

In dream symbology, shops represent a variety of opportunities and tools necessary to you to grow. They also symbolise a need within the dreamer, who is searching for different roles to play in life. As it is a clothes shop, and clothes represent the way in which the dreamer wishes to be seen in the world, or how they perceive themselves. This tells me that you are trying to find what 'fits' you, what 'feels' right.

The people in our dreams represent aspects of ourselves, they can also embody qualities, traits about ourselves, that we like and dislike. Area's of the self that we feel good about, or aspects of self that need working on. You refer to some of the characters working in the shop as sabotaging you. In life, do you feel that 'you' sometimes sabotage 'yourself'. Self criticism can be the worst kind of demoralization. Focus more on the things you like about yourself. If you had to talk about 'you' to someone else, how would you describe 'you'. Take the time, to sit quietly and make a list of all your good qualities. Your bright, you are sensitive, you are loving and affectionate, you can be a good friend and listener. Do you see where I am going with this? Then write a list on the things you don't like. For example, self criticism, indecisive, etc. I am beting the good list, far outweighs the bad. There is nothing that cannot be worked on.

I would say the Halle Berry character, is someone you admire in life. Look at why you admire her. She is a great role model. Use her as an example of what you can accomplish in your life. I am not talking about being a glamorous film star. I am talking about her strength, her work ethic, her versatility and her positive attitude in life. Seeing her in your dream, is also telling you, that you too have these qualities, you just have to believe in yourself. She may also represent the strong, wise, older energy. A part of your higher self.

The film element to your dream, is a mish mash of life images. Food is about nourishing yourself through your interaction with other people. It is also about sharing of idea's and friendship. You seem to see the sensual images as being sad. The pole dancer thing, as if being sensual is wrong or tacky. I would say this shows an inner conflict within you about this aspect of your life. Do you see love, physical relationships as base and wrong?

Showing physical love is a natural part of being human. Having desires and feelings, is also very natural. The cheapness comes into play, when we throw ourselves away by not treating ourselves with respect. You demean yourself more, when you think of yourself as being sleazy by having normal healthy thoughts of love. When you connect with people physically in life, if it is done in the spirit of 'mutual' respect, love and friendship, there is nothing wrong with it.

Watching the film as an observer, then as a participant, indicates to me that in life, you sometimes feel detached. You have a tendency to over analyse and do not connect emotionally. This may be a self preservation mechanism. A fear of being hurt. Only you know if this is meaningful to you. But in life, we get out of it as much as we put into it. Spending too much time in your head, prevents you from being and living in the moment.

Thank you Kaz for interpreting my dream. I feel like I'm always sabotaging myself so that part makes sense. I want to tell someone that I love them that I want to be in there prescience all the time even when I'm sad. But I feel like I'm hurting them or keeping them from happiness. I try to get the words out but they don't say all I want them to. I want to be with this person I'm trying to let go of a lot of pain. I want to be there for this person like they were there for me, even more so. I really want to believe in myself to overcome this. Kaz, thank you for interpreting my dreams.
