THE HONEYBEE & WHITE SMOKE

Dear Karen,

First of all, a very warm welcome back Although everything was fine and all the mods did an excellent job while you were away, your presence was still very much missed. I am delighted that you enjoyed your ‘adventure’ and I hope it was all you had imagined and more. Well I guess I better mention my dream now, so here goes....

My dream felt different because I was neither fully asleep nor was I fully awake and I immediately opened my eyes afterwards will full awareness and an understanding, not a complete understanding but an understanding nonetheless, this is why I am asking you Karen to help me with its interpretation please. Ok I will walk you through my dream exactly how it happened....

I am sleeping but still conscious of the bed and the room, I can feel myself getting light in the bed and I briefly open my eyes, I close them again and I see myself stood up straight, I move gently in the bed and continue to ‘dream’...I am stood outside in the daylight and I suddenly begin to bend over...I see myself split in two and my body is hard like a shell, I can almost hear it crack when it splits open mid section...out of my lower legs and torso I see what at first looks like the back of a bee emerge...although it may sound horrific to describe it actually felt beautiful and extremely peaceful...then from my upper torso appeared the rest of the bee, I was a bee...a beautiful glorious peaceful HONEYBEE!

Then if felt like an out of body sort of experience, but instead of looking down over my actual body...I found myself looking up at this marvellous honeybee with all the stars twinkling in the background. I remember feeling so happy and completely relaxed...when I opened my eyes and I was still in bed and fully awake. I felt wonderful...like something had changed within me on a spiritual level and it was amazing!

Shortly after this dream I fell into another dream and I saw some soft white smoke gently rising...like when you burn incense and the white smoke rises, well it was like that and it lasted no longer than a few seconds and I woke up again but also with so much peace.

I personally feel that these two brief dreams were of a positive nature but I would love to hear your interpretation of them Karen.

Thank you for your warm welcome back.

What an amazing dream/experience. From your words, I can understand what you mean when you said, it seemed like a dream but at the same time wasn't. What you were experiencing had a dreamy quality to it, from what I could see as being a extreme state of relaxation.

To me your description was one of transformation, becoming something other then yourself almost in the way the shaman's become or embody the feel, quality of an animal. Though I doubt you had been consciously thinking of Bee's prior to this experience, which makes it all the more fascinating and meaningful.

The white smoke in the second dream, I feel is connected to the first experience. White Smoke, is the strongest and most pure of all the color vibrations. It is felt to be the color of perfection and pure light energy. It represents good and fair judgment and shows the path of the spirit.

It has been estimated that approximately 70% of our crops are pollinated, to some degree by bees. If bee populations were to plummet, due to chemicals or habitat loss, we would literally be taking food out of our mouths. Our survival as a species is dependent on pollinators such as bees and thousands of other animal species that are interconnected in the web of life. These busy little workers really deserve our respect!

Bees in Lore and Myth:

From early times the bee was used as an image to represent the Mother Goddess and the hive was likened to the womb of the Great Mother. The most famous icon, depicting the goddess with the head of a bee and the feet of a bird, was found in a cave painting in Southern Spain and dates from Neolithic times. It is known that bees existed in their present form long before humankind.

In many cultures they were a symbol of immortality and in an ancient Hindu custom that has survived today; a father will feed a child honey while asking Parvati, the gentle Mother Goddess, that the child might live to see a hundred autumns. In Ancient Greece the dead were embalmed in honey in the fetal position in huge urns, waiting for their restoration to a future life.

In Celtic myth, bees were regarded as sources of great wisdom and messengers between the dimensions and in Christianity as emissaries of the Virgin Mary. For this reason they were kept informed of any major changes in their owners’ lives as it was thought they would otherwise leave the hive. It is still considered unlucky to kill a bee that goes into a house as she is bringing blessings to the home.

A very powerful image to see and to feel Lorraine, I would take this beautiful experience as a very special message from the divine. As a totem animal, the Honey Bee is full of significance and a very powerful personal animal totem. A quote I really love “The bee is more honored than other animals, not because she labors, but because she labors for others” Saint John Chrysostom. I feel this says a lot about the kind of women you are, and all that you do for others.

Stars are connected to Divine Guidance, they can also represent our hopes and wishes. When you see stars, you know that you are being guided by heavenly hands.

I hope this helps Lorraine. This is only my interpretation of your dream, so as always, please only take from it that which is meaningful to you and leave the rest.

Dear Karen,

Thank you so much for your interpretation and much needed guidance with this. You are as always so precise with your interpretations, and this is so reassuring as you managed to tune into so accurately what I was feeling at the time of the dream and what consciousness was granted to me during the experience.

My dream/experience did indeed feel like a transformation not only of a physical one but also of a deep spiritual connection, one I have not felt with such security for a long time, and hence why I felt so at peace, even upon watching my body transform was beautiful to watch and so graceful. And you are completely correct I was not thinking of bees at all. So this was not triggered and as I said it didn’t feel like a dream at all as I was totally aware of my surroundings, but I agree with you that I was in an extremely relaxed state.

I was delighted with your interpretation of the white smoke as when I looked it up in the internet some sites (not very good ones it seems) said that smoke was a bad sign or a warning, but you are so accurate with what you said:

This is exactly how I felt like it was a pure spiritual experience but was unsure if the dreams were connected at first but I can see now that they were. I thought that the smoke was there because that is how you calm bees down, but your interpretation makes far more sense and is totally in keeping with the emotion of the experience.

Thank you for sharing and I will remember it always. I found the quote so touching and beautiful and gentle yet full of strength. I must admit I am curious if this Honeybee was or is my spirit guide? But that would not explain why I would see myself turn into the honeybee? Whatever its meaning was I felt it deep within my soul and the peace it brought was indeed pure spirit, maybe even nature spirit and I so love being in and amongst nature.
